Okay, maybe not the cheeriest way to start out an August issue, but times are strange and getting stranger.

W.B. Yeats was an Irish poet and student of ancient Gaelic legends, metaphysics, and the occult. He could have cranked out those lines last week, but he wrote them a century ago in 1919, reacting to the horrors of World War I – the War to End All Wars, it was called.

It didn’t.

The Lizard King.

Yeats believed in the cyclical nature of things, and would probably feel right at home nowadays. Based on this verse, he was the Jim Morrison of his day, speaking truth, no matter how savage. (Yeats died in 1939. Morrison was born in 1943.

Hmmm…)

Imagine the Lizard King chanting those lines, with the Doors behind him. Read it again, especially those last two lines – and keep an eye out for really big waves.

unny thing about momentum – it changes fast. Half a century ago, August 16-18, 1969, half a million concertgoers gathered in a muddy field on Yasgur’s farm near Woodstock.

We are stardust, we are golden, Joni Mitchell sang. We are part of the devil’s bargain.

Four months later, the devil came to collect at another free concert at Altamont Speedway, east of San Francisco. The Hell’s Angels, hired as security for $500 worth of beer, drew their pay early and ran amok. A guy with a revolver and a head full of meth charged the stage as Mick Jagger was trying, for the third or fourth time, to start Sympathy for the Devil.

An Angel with a knife snuffed the attacker, the Stones had to be airlifted out in a helicopter, and the wave began to break.

Joni wasn’t at either concert, but Woodstock became an anthem by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young as everyone staggered into the Seventies, slightly shell-shocked, and Hunter taught us the meaning of Fear and Loathing.

And you thought things were crazy now.

Well, yeah – but it’s a beat-down, seeing-double crazy, like a punch-drunk boxer wondering where the next shot will land as Old and Evil backs you into the corner.

What happened?

Momentum, that sneaky devil, changed.

The Year 2525.

It was a different craziness in ‘69, high and fine. A redneck might kick your butt for having long hair (until Willie brought us all together), and in Texas you could spend your life in the joint just for possessing a joint (until Willie – well, you know).

Scary as it got at times, there was still a sense of daring, change, and righteous revolution – nowadays, it’s mostly just revolting.

The month before Woodstock, Apollo 11 blasted off for the Moon, with network news playing In the Year 2525 in the background – a strange, apocalyptic, one-hit wonder song eerily predicting test-tube babies and such. (The day after Neil Armstrong took his first small step in the lunar dust, it hit number one on U.S. charts for six weeks.)

In between Apollo and Woodstock, Charles Manson and his family of followers ran Helter Skelter in the Sharon Tate killings – when you get to the bottom you go back to the top of the slide, as the song says. Up, down, forward, back, that’s the nature of momentum – and waves.

Waves come and go.

They break, roll back out, come in again, a constant shift of energy and momentum. The really big ones – the tsunamis a butterfly supposedly starts by flapping its wings thousands of miles away – submerge everything in their path.

The dove returning to the ark with an olive branch was said to be a promise the Earth wouldn’t be destroyed by water again, but nothing says there won’t be lots of water coming in to put out the fires as things heat up, a nice loophole – and things are heating up, literally and metaphorically.

Maybe we’re about to go the way of Atlantis, sink beneath the waves weighed down by our technology and hubris. If so, like the Terminator, we’ll probably be back.

In the meantime – learn to surf.

AQUASOUND: The journey to The Journey

Morning, and inspiration visits.

I was almost home after my morning walk through the river park in my subdivision.

I remember it was warmer than normal and the humidity was high.

I was looking forward to cool air conditioning waiting inside my home.

As I walked up my street it began to rain lightly. I still remember how soothing the water felt, the wonderful scent of cool raindrops landing on asphalt.

By the time I reached my driveway, I didn’t even want to go in the house – I took a moment and stood in the rain.

What a wonderful refreshing feeling, I thought.

Then all of a sudden, the moment was interrupted by a soft voice in the back of my mind.

Use the sound of water, it whispered.

At first I didn’t pay attention.

Use the sound of water. A little louder this time, catching my attention. Use the sound of water for cleaning.

What?

Wait a minute. What does that mean?

Now this little voice had my complete attention.

I began thinking, how would I use the sound of water for cleaning?

Then it became clear.

I’ve always loved playing guitar when it rained. Just the sound of a few drops, and I’d grab my guitar and run to the back porch to sit and accompany the rainfall.

It seems so simple – I’d compose a guitar piece, accompanied by the sound of a rainstorm.

But the inspiration didn’t stop there. I’d also compose pieces to accompany a babbling brook, a waterfall, and the ocean. The inspiration was so clear, and made so much sense.

As we all know, over seventy percent of the Earth’s surface is water.

Most of you is water.

Water has a continuous cleansing cycle, evaporating into the atmosphere, forming clouds, releasing rain. Rain falls back to Earth, replenishing the land and plants, giving nourishment to animals and humans.

Some of this rain travels through rivers and babbling brooks. From higher to lower points, the water crushes down with great pressure, creating magnificent waterfalls.

Eventually this water leads back to the ocean, repeating this life-sustaining process.

Without water, nothing can live. Only Earth and water can bring forth a living soul. Such is the greatness of water that spiritual regeneration cannot be done without it.

In short, water is a powerful cleansing tool.

In the studio, I was on autopilot.

My Illuminati Confession

ver since my book Attract Money Now came out a few years ago, people sometimes write and ask if I’m a member of the Illuminati The first time it happened confused me.

“Why do you think I’m a member of the Illuminati?” I asked.

“Because of your belt buckle,” was the reply.

My belt buckle? Seriously?

I’m flattered that people were looking at my waistline, but it also confused me.

I looked at the cover of my book – sure enough, I’m wearing a belt buckle with a symbol of a pyramid and eye.

Thing is, the cool-looking buckle was given to me about ten years ago by a fan who wanted to congratulate me on my weight loss.

There was, and is, no more meaning to it.

It’s a belt buckle.

I let it go and didn’t think much more about it, until…

One day I was checking email and watching reruns of Modern Family on television when I noticed yet another person asking – this time on my blog – if I were a member of the Illuminati.

That’s when I decided to tell the truth.

“I don’t even know what the Illuminati is,” I confessed.

Since I didn’t want to look completely uninformed, and since it appears that people were talking about me being a member on some discussion forums, I asked one of my assistants to explain the Illuminati to me. Here’s what she said: Illuminati are about mind control and aiming towards the New World Order in order to achieve world domination. The Illuminati wishes to enslave the whole world in a plot for oneworld government. Illuminati feels it’s their karmic duty to ‘Reveal and Conceal’ – meaning they use overt symbols, in your face, without revealing what the symbols are, to hide their agenda while subliminally programming peoples’ minds.

She gave me some examples – from Katy Perry videos.

According to this type of paranoid thinking, virtually every celebrity or politician you name could be a member of the Illuminati. I have no interest in government, and certainly not in world domination. I can barely handle a house of cats.

Have any of these speculators actually read my books?

Rather than just looking at my belt buckle, they might actually open the book and discover what I really think.

People who believe in conspiracy theories and world domination scenarios are coming from victimhood.

They feel powerless in their life.

They want an explanation for their struggle.

Rather than take full responsibility and move into the Empowerment stage of awakening (which I write about in such books as The Awakening Course and At Zero), they want to blame others.

Superstars are easy targets. The wealthy are easy, too.

After all, they must have something that you and I don’t have in order to be so mega-successful.

They must all belong to some mysterious organization which helps all members succeed and leaves the rest of us to struggle.

Right?

Wrong.

If such an organization exists, I’ve certainly never been invited to join it.

Sometimes I think people who complain and conspire have too much time on their hands.

Rather than spending time expressing their life mission and following their passion, they use their hours to create conspiracy theories and projected scenarios that have nothing to do with reality.

Like me and my belt buckle.

But let’s see if we can learn something here.

I did a little research of my own about the pyramid and eye on my belt buckle – the same symbol, by the way, that’s on the U.S. dollar bill.

Here’s what I learned – that famous symbol on the dollar bill is called The Eye of Providence. It’s sometimes interpreted as the eye of God watching over all of us.

God watching over us?

That doesn’t sound bad at all.

According to the most relied-on unreliable source, Wikipedia, The Eye of Providence is mistaken for the Illuminati symbol. The original Illuminati symbol is actually the Owl of Minerva.

Owl of Minerva?

No, I don’t know what that is, either.

And I’m not a member of some Owl of Minerva club.

But isn’t it curious that people looking at my belt buckle and assuming it’s a clue to me being in the Illuminati don’t even know what the actual symbol of the Illuminati is?

I’m flattered some people think I’m so rich and powerful that I might one day help run a world-domineering government, but when I look over the list of alleged Illuminati members, I have to confess I’ve never even met one of them, let alone worked in secret (or even in public) with any of them.

Truth is, I’m a regular guy who’s worked hard and done well writing books for a living, was lucky enough to be invited to be in the hit movie The Secret, watches reruns of Modern Family on TV, writes and records self-help healing music, smokes cigars to commune with the Divine, and learned to play the saxophone.

Of course, some people think the saxophone is The Devil’s Horn.

They probably think the sax is a clue to something.

Well, I can’t please everyone.

And neither can you.

Please focus on expressing your life mission, no matter if people condemn, understand, complain, or applaud.

It’s what you’re here to do.

PS – I wrote a song on one of my albums explaining how life is a reflection of what is in you. The song is called Reflection.

The album is called Reflection. (Seemed like a no-brainer.) It’s relevant to this article, as what people project about others is usually what they actually feel about themselves.

Trust takes lifetimes to establish, and some souls feel they’ll never get there – but every soul eventually does. It requires a lot of Inner Work, the true journey of the soul.

Trust is an acronym.

Align with the moment – be present in it, perceiving from within that allowing is needed to move through whatever’s present in your world. Ground in your belief systems the ability to know your needs are met, you actually matter, and have worth – a concept too often used to exclude and isolate souls from their Inner Truth.

Next step? Choose gratitude, not as a one-time, occasional experience, but a small spark of reverence for life and your life, reaching for places that light you up, ignite your heart, and give you a positive and hopeful future focus.

If you’re pessimistic, how can you have true gratitude?

Trust is based on hope, both for the future, and for your future – telling God (or whatever you find Holy), I am open to what you have planned for me, and thankful for being here now, no matter what is occurring. I see beyond the current moment, feeling the possibility of the next as an expansive energy in my thoughts and my heart.

Last step? Remember the softness. Connect with

experiences through conscious compassion, love in action, and the child within – the part of you still seeking fun, spontaneity, genuine presence, and your ability not to hold tightly to a moment, but to allow it, flow in it, and suspend judgment (especially of yourself ).

This lets you be fully present, without (or despite) any negative thought patterns or unsupportive belief systems, allowing you to connect with what actually is happening, without distortion by layers of self-imposed filters. It means not assuming anything, allowing your thoughts to float, suspended, and your heart to open – if only a little.

But how can you be in joy, if there’s so much suffering in your world?

How can you be joyful when _____ is happening, or _____, or even _____?

How can you not be? How can you navigate from suffering to joy, for yourself or any other, if you don’t traverse the Path first, learning and teaching from experience?

Joy is a conscious meditation of peace, expressed in the now. It’s based on trust of the moment, regardless of what it is, consciously suspending old patterns based on the allowing of innocence and the purity of realizing you really are a child of God or aspect of the Divine – and you allow this grounded inner knowing to guide you, moment to moment.

It’s not a forever place.

That’s because life is about balance – but Joy is not a rare place, either. It’s about setting the child in you free, in a balanced flow with the adult in you – grounded into the practical, but reaching into freedom, dreaming impossible, unknown, unplanned, senseless, giddy, fun moments, so you really enjoy life, instead of enduring it.

Move into your Service of Joy. It lights up your heart, and those around you that allow it, with hope, excitement, and peace. If every heart were on fire with joy, the possibility of every soul knowing and allowing their worth and fully allowing their divine flow would be realized, and they would see the beauty of existence around and within themselves and their world.

The path to joy is through your magnificent heart. May you know its beauty, strength, and profound intelligence. Isn’t that the choice you’d choose to transform your world?

UNSTOPPING THE TOILET The Drainage Formulas

F

or people trying to improve their health, one of the medicines recommended most in my biologic dentistry and naturopathic practice are drainage formulas, because many disease-related symptoms result from poor circulation in the affected organ or organ system.

Sluggish circulation in any organ or tissue can lead to the build up of cellular wastes. It’s like a toilet that’s clogged and doesn’t flush. It’s not hard to imagine how quickly we can have problems when the “toilets” in our bodies don’t flush the right way.

Our livers and kidneys have not really changed in tens of thousands of years – but think how much more toxic the world has become in that period of time, and what stress and pressure they’re under to compete.

When it comes to drainage formulas, I like the Nestmann drainage formulas from Germany. These are combination herbal and homeopathic drainage formulas that support and enhance the body’s natural pathways for excreting toxins.

They’re designed to target and stimulate the liver, lymph, and kidney systems.

The Matrix.

Most illnesses in 2019 are toxic buildup diseases, not acute illnesses.

Every cell in your body is surrounded by something called the extracellular matrix, which consists of a guy in a trench coat and sunglasses dodging bullets and kicking butt on robots named Agent Smith.

Not really – it’s actually a webbing of connective tissue, and the toxic build up of waste products in this matrix ultimately hinders the passing of nutrients through the connective tissue for delivery to the cells, and impairs drainage and cellular wastes from the cells.

If the toilet metaphor is a little too visceral for you, think about what happens when there’s extreme flooding. People are stuck in their homes with no way to get food, water, and other critical supplies in, and no way to get people out – the roads are completely blocked and unusable.

Drainage formulas re-open the roads, allowing the body to get rid of trash, and bring in new nutrients to sick cells.

How well can your body proper cleanse itself?

This important question could lead you to real answers for underlying health problems. Your liver and kidneys are responsible for filtering out the many toxins we come in contact with on a daily basis.

In our increasingly toxic modern world, these excretion organs require more support to maintain their optimal function – and they are vital for releasing dangerous toxins and keeping your cells healthy.

Your kidneys filter metabolic wastes from the blood, maintain proper blood pH, activate vitamin D, and support production of red blood cells. Your liver produces glycogen, synthesizes proteins, destroys microbes, and secretes bile for digestion.

O

ften, temperance is perceived as moderation in action, thought, or feeling. What happens when the ancient tool of Tarot is employed to explore an aspect of the human experience that pertains to all?

Spiritual beings in physical bodies.

How often do you hear, We are spiritual beings having a physical experience? Spiritual Psychology absolutely supports that we existed in spiritual form before we were born into this physical world.

Carl Jung, who is well known for his works in psychology and spirituality, came to the conclusion life has a spiritual purpose beyond material goals. Tarot cards are one of the spiritual tools he is known to have found useful, as his teachings suggests they provide doorways to the unconscious, and may be a way to predict the future.

Let’s look at the intuitive method of Tarot, specifically at the card of Temperance, for some inspiration on how to find balance between body and spirit.

Finding the balance between body and spirit.

In this card there are two major symbols representing balance, starting with an angel (whom some identify as Michael) with one foot in the water that connects to our emotional intuitive life, and the other one on land that connects to our Earthly physical and rational life.

He is seen holding two cups of flowing water between them, which might be interpreted as that of which we are not consciously aware.

So how do we find our balance between our two natures?

By fully embracing our spiritual and physical selves on a conscious level. Jung believed, “We cannot grow spiritually without psychological development.” Body and Movement Counseling Psychology offers tools that directly tap into the unconscious that are fun, experiential, intuitive, and embodied, so you can thrive and manifest your greatest self.

However, not all somatic psychotherapists are necessarily spiritual, or familiar with transpersonal psychological practices.

DOUBT

Kryptonite of the Soul

We need critical thinking skills. We need to be able to

plan, discern, and distinguish right from wrong. All these skills come from a well-developed logical mind. But that mind, when traumatized, can fold in on itself and collapse.

Overbearing internal voices develop, questioning everything and derailing our simple ability to choose. We loop in circles, no longer able to find our true north. We lose our footing, our personal authority, and we find ourselves spiraling forever inward, to a place some liken to Hell. Others call it depression.

Trauma doesn’t have to be a violent affair with blood, guts, and gore – it can be a simple sense of abandonment, or chronic verbal abuse by a loved one. It makes us doubt our safety. The mind then goes into overdrive trying to secure a safe passage through the world, often by developing these cautious voices inside.

Unchecked, however, they can take over and override the intuition. The intuition is our personal guidance system. It guides us from our own internalized divinity, from within our personal place of deep inner knowing.

Once lost, the fearful mind goes unchecked and folds in upon itself.

Personal authority comes from the combined ability to listen to our inner guidance, discern, and then act accordingly.

When the intuition is overrun by the fearful mind, discernment quickly turns into chronic doubt. This kind of doubt hobbles us, keeping us from action. It makes us question our every thought, everyone, and our every move. It separates us from loved ones, and from ourselves.

A certain amount of skepticism is important in a world filled with endless sales pitches and snake oil salesmen, but without our inner knowing, unbridled doubt ultimately isolates us from Source itself. It’s like kryptonite for the soul.

In the high mountains of Peru, there is an Andean concept called atyi. It is the measure of our personal power, the embodiment – and expression – of our divinity. It speaks to our ability to harness Source energy and express our gifts and passions in the physical world with it.

The idea is, the more coherent we are with this Source energy, the more we can use it, and co-create with it. Power

in this paradigm comes from being congruent with Source energy, not separate from it – congruent meaning our internal divinity is working in concert with this external Source. The biggest thing undermining the atyi is the mind. Fear and doubt create separation, and thus incongruence.

In this culture we mistake control over for power.

When we are in fear, we instinctively lean into controlling our feelings, but usually this is at the expense of our divinity.

Feelings are the soul’s feedback system. The more “in control” we are, the more we separate from these inner voices and command them to be still.

A mind gripped by fear and doubt pulls away from Source and implodes upon itself. At this point we have very little atyi, because we can neither connect with our internal nor external divinity. We are just mind, with all its fearful agendas. Personal authority comes from reclaiming that part of ourselves that is divine, and then using the mind to following through with its guidance.

The spiritual journey is one of developing, not faith, but trust. Faith is believing in something – it’s meant to override doubt, but still it operates at the level of the mind. Trust, on the other hand, comes from a deep knowing. It transcends the doubt-riddled mind.

By reclaiming our own internal resources, embodying them, and following them through, we redevelop trust – the antidote for kryptonite. Rather than needing to control outcomes, we come back into coherence with Source, and from this place we can participate in co-creating our journey, though heartfelt intention.
