About

theProject

The goal of this project was to renovate a school bus into a space for children to better engage with reading, The idea was taken from the Jessup Wagon which was once used in a similar fashion while keeping all the components that make the bus mobile. The bus will be used to increase literacy rates and promote reading in different areas around the county.

15

Research

The project began with designing picture collages called mood boards to get an idea of what children might like to have on the bus.

AbouttheProject

Theobjectiveofthisprojectistodemonstratetheunderstandingofhowthe organizationalstructuresofspacesandpathwayscanworktogetherto produceanarchitectonicstructureorbuilding.Withthesupportoflighting, andspacedefiningelement.Thechallengeswerefacedduringthedesign process,understandinghowtotransformandcreatestructureswitha path .

The project began with a few exercises with the goal of understanding the structures of organization. Using foam models the examination of these structures in radial, centralized and clustered structures were used to better understand the concepts.

Research

Theseimageswereusedasprecedentsforelementsofthefinal model

As the models are transferred to the digital software, we are able to explore all the different structures simultaneously. This is an advantage of the virtual models.
