DVSA COMPLIANCE !
Did you know that the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) are implementing stricter requirements for HGV brake testing for ATFs and Fleet Operators from April 2025?
APRIL 2025 - LADEN TESTING BECOMES MANDATORY
Trailers must have 4 mandatory fully laden tests annually, or transition to an electronic brake performance monitoring system - EBPMS (EBPMS cannot entirely replace RBT tests). These will be accepted as the sole methods for evaluating brake performance for increased safety and aligns with DVSA’s updated “Guide to Maintaining Road worthiness”
ATF EQUIPMENT UPGRADES (REQUIRED BY DECEMBER 2025)
All current brake testers purchased prior to June 2024 must be updated with the new software by the end of December 2025.
