Leter From The Foundation President

PRESIDENT PRESIDENT

JOSEPH ROSENWASSER On my way to the AAGO oce I was speaking to my mom as I typi cally do on long car rides. I remember the conversation very clearly, as I made my way to my rst Friends of The Foundation committee meeting. As my mom and I talked, she said, “I know you’ll come out of this meeting wanting to get more involved with AAGO.” I remember brushing o her comment saying, “I just want to see w hat they are doing.” I can’t recall how I found out about the meeting or why I felt compelled to attend, but my mom was right. 5 years later, this past January, I was installed as the President of the AAGO Foundation. I hold my position and the organization I get to serve with gr eat pride. The AAGO Foundation is the association’s “philanthropic arm” so to speak and continues to make tremendou s impacts on the central Florida community. Through our local charity partners and collaboration with Valen cia College’s Residential Property Management Program (RPM), our eorts lend a hand to members of the commun ity and work to bolster industry workforce development. During my time as President, the Foundation plans to focus on t hree major goals. First, we will work to maximize our fundraising eorts so that we are able to make signicant nancial contributions to each of our charity partners. Secondly, we have set a volunteer time goal for the y ear of 250 hours (total for all volunteers combined) and we will endeavor to exceed that. Lastly, we will work to st rengthen our relationship with the Friends of the Foundation committee, as well as with Valencia’s RPM Program to ensure that both the association and the industry have a healthy pool of individuals who are focused on volunteer ism and the well-being of the community. We highly encourage everyone to participate in Foundation eor ts in whatever capacity that best serves them. Whether that be in the form of a monetary contribution or volun teering your time we are always looking for new ways, or in this case, new faces, that seek to further common g oals. We urge you to please help spread the word of our good work with your colleagues or on social media and be pr oud of what we are doing to represent our industry. I know I am.
