In a celebration of all Masters of the Creative Universe, we cheer all the archetypes that round out each team: the talented and the tyrannical, the sorcerers and the sword-fallers, the bridge builders and the bomb squad.

The brand new FedEx Logistics headquarters was slated to open its doors as we began to the pandemic in 2022, and enlisted us to make the rooftop feel like a place employees would gather. We designed two murals facing each other: one to showcase the breadth of FedEx’s global reach featuring ground, air, freight, and logistics, and one celebrating the music and global headquarters in Memphis, TN featuring the pyramind and BB King’s Lucille guitar.

Norah Perry is a senior designer and art director based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After spending her 20’s in search of purpose, she landed on design, a seemingly natural progression after having obtained a studio art and English degree. So back to school she went! Quickly followed by a position at an advertising agency “balanced” with as many freelance design projects as she could get her hands on. After a few years in the advertising/freelance world, she transitioned over to Harley-Davidson where she’s been for the past four years, soaking up all that a heritage brand such as Harley-Davidson has to offer. She looks forward to continuing to grow and learn as creative in every way possible — and what better way than to review the latest and greatest work.

Atravel enthusiast, business owner, consistent concert attendee, and pop culture aficionado. Rob wears many hats and enjoys recreating himself whenever he sees fit. In his day-to-day work, he works at Google NYC as an Account Manager in Digital Advertising Sales, helping clients like Meta, CheapOair, HubSpot, and more to strengthen their brand presence across digital platforms. He runs nineOH7 on weekends, selling licensed collegiate apparel and accessories that showcase HBCUs and Black art. A self-taught graphic designer, Rob has been working in the digital design space for many years – often helping small business owners build their digital ad strategies. Born in DC and raised in Prince George’s County, MD, his roots influence his personal style and creative POV. Before Google, Rob worked in Product Innovation and Brand Marketing for the US Postal Service, with the goal to merge mail and technology together for the future. He currently serves as a lead for Black Googler Network (NYC) and an Advisory Board Member for ADCOLOR.

Jorge is a Creative Director at Highdive in Chicago. During his career he has created award-winning work for Jeep, Rocket Mortgage, PepsiCo, P&G, Allstate, Citi, Diageo and McDonald’s. Before joining Highdive, Jorge worked at Cossette, Sapient Razorfish, Leo Burnett Chicago and GarnierBBDO.

He completed a Master in Visual Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan, Italy and studied photography at the Istituto Europeo IED. He also attended the Digital Master Class at Hyper Island in NYC.

His work has been nominated for an Emmy and awarded at Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, Clios, Communication Arts, Webbys, LIAs, AICP, Epica, NY Festivals and Effies among others. “

You can talk about it, or you can be about it.” Spend enough time with Russell Toynes, and you’re guaranteed to hear these words. He may have many mantras, but this one is his manifesto. A man of many hats, a father, husband, small business owner, creative director, design educator, mentor, and community leader, Russell walks it how he talks it.

Russell and his wife Elizabeth started Studio Dzo in 2016 with one goal in mind, to disrupt the sign industry by putting excellent service and thoughtful design front and center. Based in Austin, TX, Studio Dzo designs elevated experiences through branding, wayfinding, and architectural signage. Above all, Studio Dzo prioritizes good work with good people, a mission that has built lasting relationships with its partners.

They have delivered award winning work for Indeed, Whole Foods Market, RetailMeNot, Dell Technologies, The Boys and Girls Club, Neighborhood Goods, Spare Birdie Public House, Cute Nail Studio, and a long list of architecture firms, interior design agencies, and small businesses.

Russell shares his knowledge and expertise with design students as an Adjunct Professor at Austin Community College. His passion for his community is manifested further in his dedication to supporting Black designers as a founding member of African American Graphic Designers (AAGD.co), a professional organization and community for Black creatives to be voices of change in the industry.
