DESIGN PORTFOLIO
My undergraduate degree in Interior Design provided a strong foundation in spatial planning, materiality, and human-centered design. Now, as I advance in my graduate studies, I am deepening my understanding of outdoor environments, ecological systems, and the integration of built and natural landscapes. Beyond technical skills, I am continually honing my ability to communicate ideas through visual storytelling, crafting compelling narratives that connect people to spaces. As a Master of Landscape Architecture student at UF, I am expanding my design expertise by pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Themed Environments Integration. I am seeking landscape architecture experience with a focus on themed environments.

Why Sustainability and Functionality Matter
LEED building standards for residential buildings is important to practitioners as well as researchers because of the new developments in our field and learning new ways of working and developing technologies.
Climate change is a significant problem, and this is driving demand for sustainable construction practices.
The concept of sustainability was created to keep the social and environmental systems in balance in a way people would benefit from it.
The best biophilic design effectively eliminates stress and anxiety from the built environment is achieved by maintaining thoughtful connections with nature.
The person environment theory connects the individual and his and her environment and person - to person relationships within the environment.
Physiological needs relate to physical requirements for the human body and how the body functions within the environment. This includes anthropometrics and ergonomics as well as the effect of the environment (e.g., noise, light, temperature, humidity, and ventilation) on human senses.
5 major design strategies
Universal design: accessible to people, regardless of age, disability or other factors.
Sustainability: Following LEED standard to reduce the negative impacts on the environment, while increasing the health and comfort of its occupants.
Ergonomics: It is benefitable to have a functional home that comfortable and easy to use.
Materials: This is where specific analysis of the products use, expected life and environment are necessary to ensure its survival.
Biophilia We prove the importance of the biophilic effect with each step we take to shape our environment so that it nourishes us.
CLIENT: USER IS THE CLIENT
Jocelyn Bailey works as a nurse in the NICU at Novant Health, she is looking to buy her first Townhome with her Fiancé, who owns a mechanic shop. She wants a functional space that can feel relaxed in after a tense day at work. She would like it to be spacious along with 2 beds, 2.5 bath. She enjoys reading and cooking in her spare time and would like a lot of storage space in the kitchen and bedroom closet. Her fiancé Deshon would like storage in the garage for his tools and they both would like a space for entertaining guest and their nieces and nephews when they come to visit. She cares about the environment, so she wants her apartment to be designed around LEED standards. She plans on renting the unit out when she moves so she also wants it to have Universally designed elements.

Homes be safe and accessible for everyone, regardless of age, physical ability, or stature. Every household has a unique living situation, and a home cannot really feel like home if it’s a struggle to live in it.
