3. Implementation of Digital Copy We require two different kinds of input: • Marketing / text input: Wording for user interface (template available) in local language(s) 1 Links to external URLs if desired Banners to be embedded •
Authoring / file input: o Authoring made by DADC If the authoring is done by Sony DADC, the workflows are synchronized internally and the encoded video files, as well as design files, are used from the Authoring project. o Authoring made by external supplier If you work together with another authoring facility, please use the checklist on the last page, to make sure the input meets our specifications.
4. Customize your Digital copy You can choose how often you want your customer to download the films onto his PC. One license can be used for one PC – that means if you decide to allow two downloads, the customer can download his digital copy onto two different PCs. In case you have DVD video content on the same disc as the digital copy, it is possible to insert a “play video content” button into the Digital Copy menu screen. You can also have more than one Digital Copy on your disc: you can choose between different languages for one film or even different films on one disc. (Please check chapter 9b) for maximum disc size) In order to use a recognition factor for a high quality PC download, you have the possibility to integrate the official Digital Copy Logo (copyright by DEG - Digital Entertainment Group) onto your disc label or your artwork. Please refer to chapter 9f for more detailed information. Standard turnaround time for a Digital Copy project is 10 workdays after all inputs have been provided and depends on exact configuration (number of video streams, menu languages).
5. Serialization of discs with Postscribed ID™ Postscribed ID ™ enables individual serialization and identification of DVD-Video/ROM discs. The disc surface is modified to embed the ID data. Our browser-based client interface reads out the PID information on the discs and forwards it to the authentication server, to manage the rights per disc for DRM download. This technology makes serialization of the artwork redundant and enables one-click file transfer.
Postscribed ID™ is only available for 12cm DVDs. DVD-5 and DVD-9 are supported.
