the hollowing and retrofitting of an abandoned structure, The Stevenage Telephone Exchange

a concept where recorded sounds from Stevenage are stored, edited, combined, and replayed for an audience

the project is hidden behind the facade of the old structure, with only a cantilevered auditorium hinting at its presence

saunter in Stevenage

the Saunter route guides visitors through Stevenage, offering carefully selected views of the town through strategically placed windows

Stevenage Station
Pin Green Water Tower

the only modification to the existing station involves the removal of a ramp

start the design approach aimed to incorporate the water tower’s structure into the beginning of the Saunter route - this was achieved by creating an abstract yet recognizable replica that captures the tower’s character

views within Saunter

the interior design of the walkway varied along its length. In certain sections, the floor and side walls were constructed of glass, providing an enhanced view closed glass floor and side wall

moments through Saunter

Fungus Forum in Hackney

the project began with a table prototype crafted from a damaged log found on-site. Upon discovering mushrooms growing on the log, I was inspired to create a program centred around this. This led to Fungus Forum, a project dedicated to the collection, sale, and therapeutic use of mushrooms

mushroom market
psilocybin therapy

the market structure consists of a simple timber frame with coir pith and underside plywood panels for support. The coir pith is designed to support mycelium growth, allowing the structure to evolve over time. To understand the feasibility and functionality of this design, I conducted tests using scale models

Kranbana in London Docklands

the project aims to revive the industrial history of the London Docklands. Historically, cranes on tracks were used at this dock to load and unload cargo from the Thames. To commemorate this heritage, I developed moveable and joinable cabins that follow a similar path. These cabins serve various purposes, including individual artist spaces, help centres, and group art lessons. At night, they combine to form a gallery that exhibits artists’ work
