„Gawronek poznaje zimę” „A small rook get to know a winter” Story from Poland Tuwima to Atvasite Latvia

• A small rook didn’t sleep well in the night.

He woke up because of cold. He tried to stand from one leg to the other. Finally, he puffed out his feathering and slept the rest of night. In the morning he saw that another rooks did the same like he. He ask an old rook why is so cold? The old and experienced rook said that the winter is coming.

• A small rook was sad because he didn’t know what is the winter and snow. He felt thirsty and decided to go to the nearby pond.

• The water in the pond was queerly calm. A small rook came his beak up to drink some water. Suddenly, he bonked into something hard. He was shocked and thought why the water were so hard.

• He walked through the frozen pond and saw a small hole. He tried to drink some water and stopped because of cold.

• He gave up becuse felt cold. A small rook didn’t understand why the water was wet yesterday and suddenly frozen today. He was gloomy.

• The old rook was happy that the whole pond didn’t frozen and he could drink some water. He also explained to small rook that winter is coming and it change the water in pond into hard and cold ice.
