Signs of Spring Keahiloa Timbal
Artist Statement
Spring is a season of transformation, both in nature and within ourselves. As the earth awakens from its winter slumber, so too do our senses come alive with the sights, sounds, and scents of new beginnings. In my exploration of spring’s emergence through photography, I am captivated by the way it elicits a sense of rejuvenation and hope. Nature bursts forth with an explosion of colors as flowers bloom and trees bring out their green leaves. These manifestations of growth and renewal mirror our own internal processes of shedding the old and embracing the new. Spring inspires us to cast off the heaviness of winter and embrace a lighter, more vibrant existence. Moreover, spring stirs within us a sense of possibility and optimism. The longer days and warmer temperatures beckon us outdoors, inviting us to explore, to connect with nature, and to rediscover the joy of simply being alive. It is a time of reawakening, of shaking off the slums of hibernation and embracing a sense of adventure and vitality. Through my close-up photographs of spring’s floral treasures in the urban landscape, I aim to capture not only the beauty of nature’s rebirth but also the profound impact it has on our spirits. I hope to convey the sense of wonder and awe that accompanies this season of transformation.
