ANN MARY JOSE ||
I am Ann Mary Jose, from Thrissur.
As an architecture student, I am driven by a passion for exploring diverse forms of art and design. My creative journey is fueled by the curiosity to understand how achitecture intersects with other disciplines, pushing me to continuously expand my knowledge and skills.
I believe architecture is not just about building structures but crafting experiences that resonate with the environment and culture. To achieve this, I actively immerse myself in studying new trends, sustainable practices, and innovative design techniques.
Whether through sketching, model-making, or experimenting with digital tools, I constantly seek fresh perspectives that inspire creative solutions. My approach is a blend of curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for the evolving nature of architectural design.
My portfolio reflects my passion for learning and growing, always striving to balance every project. I see architecture as an ever-evolving art form, and I am excited to contribute to this dynamic field with fresh ideas.

SPATIAL EXPLORATION || SEMESTER 03
STUDIO TEAM:
The Semester 3 space making studio focuses on designing a Sculpture Workshop that also serves as a Sculpture Shop, creating a seamless transition space that connects Jew Town Road to Jew Street. The project blends sustainability, natural light, and spatial design. By incorporating green spaces and jalis the space achieves a distinct spatial quality that promotes creativity, commerce,

My concept of reconciliation is about giving oneself to the nature. Through this project, I tried to follow the nature’s way of healing and finding harmony through the experience of different emotions. The journey of reconciliation begins with a path through the thick garden land into the field. One can experience the transition of light, sound and warmth as he/she enters the garden land.The spaces vary in its own way of blending with nature.Also the building is placed in such a way that it gives a warm hug to the landscape.The spatial experience is also achieved through the interplay of light and shadow, and circulation. Space for reconciliation underscores the value of a deep and harmonious relationship with nature through the built spaces.

Daylight is done to see how much light enters each rooms in which we can make sure ample light is needed.

THE SHADED EDGE
SCHOOL EXTENSION || CLIMATE RESPONSIVE STUDIO || SEMESTER 05
STUDIO TEAM:
In the fifth-semester studio, the project site was located in Chellanam. The objective was to design an extension for a school that responded sensitively to the site’s unique environmental conditions. Being situated near the sea, the site experienced high exposure to sunlight and strong, saline winds, which made the use of materials like steel unsuitable. The primary focus of the studio was to analyze solar radiation and daylight to create a climateresponsive design. My approach involved incorporating planter boxes and extending walls to provide additional shade Wand enhance indoor comfort. The strategic placement of a veranda along the edge of the building allowed for reflected light to enter the classrooms, improving natural illumination. Zoning within the building was carefully planned based on the direction and intensity of sunlight to ensure optimal light distribution and thermal comfort.

During Semester 6, the project focused on designing a sports complex located in Kakkanad, near Rajagiri College. The development included a detailed list of sports and activities to be accommodated within the facility. The structural analysis and design were carried out using STAAD software, enabling a comprehensive exploration of materials and construction techniques. The building follows a square-shaped form, but its spatial arrangement incorporates cut-outs and open spaces, enhancing functionality, aesthetics, and natural ventilation. This thoughtful design approach adds visual appeal and improves the overall experience within the complex.
