Sorority Remodel Custom Design – Remodel, Virginia Tech Campus, Blacksburg, Virginia

With the age of the sorority houses on Oak Lane, it’s time for some of them to get a little freshening up. Here we remodeled the kitchen, changed the floor coverings and put a new finish on the walls. The spaces have a brighter cleaner look.

Inside and Out Remodel Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia The old porch had been closed in with wood paneling and the insulation was lacking.

New insulation and drywall brightened up the space.

The aging bathroom was in need of some attention. We re‐designed the space and installed new fixtures and finishes.

Inside and Out, Part II Custom Design Build, Blacksburg, Virginia - new enclosed porch and deck replacement

The existing deck was replaced with a new screened porch, quickly becoming the most popular room in the house. Even the cats love it.

A new deck with composite decking was added for a place to take in the sun and access the back yard.

Porch Rebuild Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

Coming to the aid of a good idea gone wrong we were able to open up the porch ceiling and give the timber frame the life it deserved.

Part of this basement had been finished, but there was more space to be had. The bright walls, wall sconces and black ceiling are just right for the new media room.

Kitchen Makeover Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

The clients had envisioned this makeover but the complexity of the remodel called for some help. We took down a wall and brought their vision to reality.

Natural cherry cabinets and Prada gold granite countertops with a spacious apron front farmhouse sink and sleek new stainless steel appliances.

Wrap Around Deck Replacement Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

The old decks were no longer safe. We matched the existing footprint with new decks, restoring the use of these outdoor spaces. The aluminum balusters maximize the view through the railing.

Exterior Makeover Includes Fresh Sunroom Addition Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia Not only visual appeal! The windows were replaced with new Energy Star windows. Before the new siding was installed the entire home was wrapped in a layer of rigid foam board greatly increasing the efficiency and comfort of this home.

The old screened porch had seen better days. The new sunroom is bright and a great connection to the outdoors and new outdoor living spaces.

Remodel Opens Space and Eases Room to Room Transition Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

Before Taking out several walls helped open up this ranch. New flooring, lights and finishes connect all the space as one.

In addition to remodeling the bathroom, the home got an energy uplift as well with new R‐50 in the attic.

Kitchen and Bath Remodel Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

The third bedroom in this home was small and underused. We turned it into a second bathroom and laundry room, freeing up space in a tight master bath.

Ranch House Remodel Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

Before New lights and a new mantel combine with widening doorways to make this living room more inviting.

New 15 lite French doors invite you into the living room.

Floors were refinished for a clean look.

Removing the raised hearth in the kitchen enhanced the flow through the space.

Three color tones of cabinetry keep the kitchen light and interesting.

Spaces were opened up, but not totally.

The new music room can be closed off with the glass French doors.

Arched openings connect different living spaces, but the kitchen is opened to the dining area.

Deck and Patio Refresh Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

The new deck with composite decking and aluminum balusters provides outdoor living space and connects to the patio below.

The lower level entry is served better by a concrete patio than it would be by a deck.

Office Space Customization Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

Before Expanding the tiny kitchen to serve as the new break room will serve this team well.

New LED Lights replace many of the older lights.

Walls were removed to create an open workspace. With creative patching we were able to maintain the existing carpet.

Master Bath and Closet Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia This master suite suffered from a too small closet and a cut up bath. By taking space from a hall closet we could reconfigure the whole space to maximize both closet and bath. An old door was repurposed as a barn style door. enlightened design…lightened footprint

Time for the old tub to go in this master bath makeover. This allowed for a more spacious shower.

Cabinet hardware was salvaged from the old cabinets as a nod to the original kitchen

New white laminate countertops capture that mid‐century modern look. While walls were opened up, enough structure was left to define the spaces and help create some visual organization

Rearranged and Expanded Kitchen Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

Copper Dune granite tops are a work of art.

Tumbled travertine backsplash tiles lend a Mediterranean feel and New appliances from Sub Zero and Wolf make for a professional in‐home working kitchen.

Salvaging most of the cabinets from the existing kitchen we were able to match new ones to adjust the layout.

Removing the peninsula helped to open the kitchen to the dining area.

A new butler's pantry dressed in blue provides the homeowner with much needed light and organization.

Townhouse Kitchen Opened Up Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia

A once dark and dingy cramped space becomes a lively and open galley.

Desk cabinetry matches the kitchen and ties everything together.

To complement the grayish tones of the granite and wood/tile floors, client chose two tones for cabinets – white wall cabinets with driftwood finish on base.

Creating storage in every corner. Fantasy Brown quartzite is a showstopper.

Hardwood flooring meets Ceramic tile.

From Vintage Blah to Vintage Wow Custom Design – Build, Blacksburg, Virginia Making the most of a small kitchen, removal of a wall really opened the space.

The new layout has better flow, too.

This tile was in the vision from the start. Custom made in California, it adds a lot to the new look.

The living room also has a larger feel with it’s new connection to the kitchen.

The tall thin refrigerator helps make this kitchen layout work.
