About Us As a family run funeral director our main priority is to provide every family with a funeral service that is not only of the highest standard but also affordable to everyone.

Here at Forever Together we offer a bespoke service, which includes all the facilities necessary to look after your loved ones until it’s time to say goodbye.

A unique but optional part of our service is a lovely Memory Box, containing the order of service, Photo’s, flower cards, eulogy, and a cd of the service music, if you wish we can add a lock of hair and any other precious keepsake you would like.

We understand that planning a funeral is one of the most difficult times in your life and here at Forever Together we will guide and support you through every aspect, from paperwork and spending time with your loved ones until your final goodbye.

Meet The Team DENISE CHAPMAN Managing Director Denise was born in Portsmouth and knew that her main career path would be in the funeral industry. Whilst working in a variety of jobs including waitressing and van driving, she also worked voluntarily with a funeral director to gain experience. Denise was finally offered a position with a funeral director in 2006 where she learned how the industry worked from the bottom up.

Denise finally decided to open her own business in 2015 when she realised that many families were unable to pay the rates that other companies were asking. Her business caters not only for standard funerals, but she offers help and assistance to families who may struggle to cope with the financial demand during what can be a very upsetting time in their lives.

Denise’s company is small and is run by a closeknit group of her family and friends, all with a vast experience of the industry. Her main priority is the wellbeing of the families whilst they are with her and offering comfort and the opportunity to chat for many months after the funeral has taken place.

and family. She has 4 children and 11 grandchildren, and she loves to spend as much time as she can with them.

TERESA ELLIOTT Funeral Arranger Teresa was born and raised in Portsmouth, she has 3 grown up children and 8 Grandchildren.

When she left school, she wanted to be in the care industry. Teresa attended Portsmouth College and studied and passed Physiology, Biology, Sociology and Health studies.

Sadly, being a single Mum with 3 young children, which was her top priority, she put it on hold, and was unable to continue to University to get her degree’s.

When Teresa’s children had grown, she returned to college to complete her studies and became a Phlebotomy nurse.

BEN FERGUSON Funeral Director Ben is Denise’s nephew and was born and raised in Portsmouth. He started working in scaffolding but was always interested in the funeral industry after attending his own close family’s funerals.

But it was not until her Mum passed away and came into Forever Together’s Care, that she realised that this is something she would love to do and felt very passionate about, it was still in the care profession, but after life care, she feels it is a privilege to be given the trust to take care of people’s loved ones on their final journey. Teresa joined Forever Together Funeral Care in 2019. She is a very caring, understanding, compassionate lady who is a good listener. Teresa enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially her Grandchildren.

He joined the industry in 2014 working for a much larger company based in Southampton but came to work for Forever Together in October 2016. He is the funeral director for both our Portsmouth and Paulsgrove branches and has a passion for what he does combined with an excellent eye for attention to detail. He says “being a funeral director is not a job to me, it is a vocation. I love to help people in what can be the worst times of their lives. Knowing we have contributed to their loved ones’ final journey is not only a pleasure but an honour”.

Ben is a keen football fan, supporting Portsmouth Football Club and attends as many games as he can throughout the season.

MICHAEL CHAPMAN Funeral Operative

A builder by trade, Michael is the husband of Denise. He helps out with a variety of tasks on a part-time basis when the business requires.

He loves playing golf and spending time on his boat.

HAYLEY THORNHILL Funeral Arranger

Hayley was born and grew up in Gosport, she has always had an interest in the funeral industry from leaving school. Hayley has worked within the industry since 2013 as a casual funeral arranger for another company in Gosport. In between she has worked in hospitality and retail but always knew that the funeral industry is where she wanted to be working.

Hayley refers to her job position as a funeral arranger to be her ideal job role and feels she is privileged to be able to assist families during potentially the worst time in their lives, enabling them to fulfil their loved one’s last wishes.

Hayley has a very caring nature and is always willing to listen to families, advice where necessary and help in any way she can.

Hayley enjoys baking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

IAN GRANT Casual Bearer

Ian was born and lives in Portsmouth and has been working in the funeral industry since 2015 as a casual funeral operative.

Ian is a keen member of the team with an eye for detail and always happy to help out where he can. He is hard working and naturally a caring gentleman who will go the extra mile to help families ease the pain of losing a loved one.

Ian loves to travel with his wife in their beloved VW camper van.

Children’s Funeral It is always so difficult to talk about the death of a child.

Our arrangers have experience in arranging children’s funerals so please speak to them about your child’s farewell.

Refurbishment and Restoration

Over the years the elements can take their toll on a memorial. We see many memorials which have lost their lustre and inscriptions have faded. In our hands we can restore a memorial to its former glory by carefully removing the engrained grime in the stone and where necessary restoring the inscription. If the memorial is unlevel or unstable we will advise you of the cost and if this is a health and safety issue with the local authority.

If you are interested in having a memorial cleaned or refurbished we can visit the grave and inspect the memorial free of charge with no obligation to proceed with our quotation.

Additional Inscriptions

Should an additional inscription be required we are able to match the original inscription on the memorial. We also have a removal service and storage facility at our workshop, if required, for memorials removed for a second burial. If you require an additional inscription we can advise you how many lines are available in the space left on the memorial.
