Kuling Street - History Kuling Street has been opened up at the end of the Qing Dynasty, there is governor's dormitory area, many civil servants living in Japanese building on the street.

In 1947, the Taiwan Provincial Chief Executive's Office announced the "Taipei City, the old and new road name table" named Kuling Street.

After the surrender of Japan in 1945, Japanese who live in Taiwan have been repatriated to Japan, then some difficult to carry books, calligraphy and painting items such as stalls for sale.

Kuling Street, the total number of old bookstore in the heyday of up to more than two hundred, some of the old bookstore to expand the business to become an old bookstore.

As the streets near the postal museum, it attracted many coupons, in the South Road, Chongqing South Road, Hainan Roadcomposition a well-known coins and stamps street.

In the past, the East Asian libraries in Europe and the United States, have sent people to Taiwan to buy many literature and history books, which also have some precious books. In addition to the old books, the old photos have been a major feature of Kuling Street.

Kuling Street - Building Now Kuling Street no longer have a lively atmosphere, the streets of the Japanese-style architecture is very few, old and new buildings mixed with scattered in the same street.

Bookstore In the past, there were six old bookstores in Kuling Street, but now there are only four or five stores. (The day we went there ,we only saw one or two stores.)

With the rise of the network, the old bookstore business mode was forced to confort change.

Now the bookstore need to participate the flea market, second-hand market, to achieve the previous turnover.

Kuling Street Small Theater "Kuling Street Theater" is the only one avant-garde theater performances of public places in Taiwan, but also the first idle space reuse into a cultural space, and operated by folk.

Kuling Street Theater is based in Taizhong District, Taipei, Taiwan, built in 1906. There are three floors: the first floor with a information desk, DM area and experimental theater; second floor with conference room, audio-visual room, art space; third floor with rehearsal room.

Stamps and Coins Kuling Street is near by "Post Museum", this is the reason why here is the gathering place for the Taipei stamps.Kuling Street is the largest of Taiwan's stamps, but the economy is getting worse, and technological progress, people seldom send the letters,so we won't spend money to collect the stamp.

These stores also have their own business, there are specialized stamps, coins, and auction-based, but also to retail coins and stamps,the variety can be described as diverse.

We believe that many memories have hidden in postcards.We use different colors to fill in each country,in the postcard box there are many kinds of blocks, real or virtual, representing a variety of memories.

Guling Street have so many brick wall, so we shrink down the bick and stacking it, some of them are real and some of them are virtual.

You can see the light by the virtual brick,it express that Guling Street still have the hope of regaining prosperity.

Guling Street was decline by the progress of the times gradually, the past prosperity and the currently decline become a contrast.

We uers the plant cell pattern to create our design,virtual lines, black and white color, have become a contrast.

Plan Our base is located in the underground store, so there are three entrance.

In order to avoid didn't notice the guests, we set up the bar and counter at the entrance.

Traffic flow Our restaurant was design by picking on site, combined with the local culture to set up a DIY postcard area.

It divided into three areas: planted, light food restaurant, DIY postcards.

Traffic flow divided into the experience area and diet area, no matter you want to eperience after eating, or eat after picing,it won't cause trouble on the traffic flow.
