A MICH helmet (for Modular Integrated Communications Helmet) is a type of ballistic helmet used by the United States military. It was designed in the early 2000s as a replacement for the PASGT helmet. The MICH is also used by other countries, such as the United Kingdom. The MICH helmet is designed to allow soldiers to use a single helmet for different communications functions. These functions include both voice communications, such as over a radio, and data communications such as over a satellite phone. The MICH helmet comprises two parts: an upper section, and a lower section. The upper section is designed to house the communication equipment, such as a microphone, and the lower section is designed to fit onto the upper section.
