Introduction

詩 人 作為時代之眼， 接收 時代的光線，也能深深注視時代 暗 影。而 臺 北 作 為

一 座 以 文 化 自 豪 的 城 市， 透 過 詩， 我 們 渴 望 與 臺 北 一 同 進 行 如 卓 別 林 電 影《 城 市 之 光 》裡 展 現 的 ， 那 光 與 暗 的 辯 證 。

那 麼 ， 什 麼 樣 的 詩 人 能 夠 抓 住「 時 代 精 神 」？ 來 聽 聽 駐 市 詩 人 臺 裔 美 籍 詩 人 蔡

仁 儀 ， 以 及 將 首 度 造 訪 臺 北 的 奈 及 利 亞 詩 人 阿 奇 諾、 香 港 中 堅 詩 人 鍾 國 強、

日本詩人平田俊子、越南詩人鄧紳，一同帶來美洲、非洲與亞洲現代詩壇最 新 的 脈 動 ， 交 織 出 今 年 度 的 國 際 詩 歌 風 景 。 同 時， 羅 思 容《 心 の 鏡 ─ 跨 越 語

言 的 詩 歌 風 景 》演 唱 、 波 賽 堤《 聲 音 詩 工 作 坊 暨 演 出 ： 池 與 湯 》、《 詩 人 制 憲 大

會 》、《 多 元 成 詩 》徵 件 與《 詩 畫 平 權 》等 ， 持 續 呼 應 臺 北 詩 歌 節 跨 域 實 踐 的 核 心精神。

優 秀 的 文 藝 創 作 者 均 具 備 時 代 之 眼， 能 洞 察 華 麗 底 下 的 荒 蕪 ， 喧 囂 背 後 的 孤 獨 。 臺 北 詩 歌 節 期 望 能 具 體 而 微 地 展 現 出 詩 人 們 的 書 寫， 並 激 勵 大 家 一 起 行 動。

The poets are the eyes of the time that receive the light of the time, and gaze into the dark shadow of the time. As a city taking pride in its culture, Taipei, through poetry, we desire to undergo a dialectical argument of light and shadow just as Charlie Chaplin’s film, City Lights.

What kind of poets can grasp“ zeitgeist ? ”Come listen to the Poet in Residence this year, Taiwanese American poet Kelly Tsai, Nigerian poet Efe Paul Azino in his first visit to Taipei, Hong Kong poet Chung Kwok-keung, Japanese poet Hirata Toshiko, and Vietnam poet Dang Than. They bring the latest pulses from poetry scenes from America, Africa and Asia, and put together the international poetry landscape this year. At the same time, events like Lo Si-rong ’s concert“ The Mirror of the Heart – the Poetry Landscape Over the Barrier of Languages, ” Alessandro Bosetti’s“ The Sound Poetry Workshop and Performance: The Pool and the Soup, ”“ The Constitution Assembly of Poets, ”the“ Submissions: Poetry with Diversity, ”and the“ Equal Rights for Poetry and Art ”reflect the core of cross-over realization that the Taipei Poetry Festival holds dearly.

All good art creators have the eyes for the time, and can see the bareness under glamor, and loneliness behind noise. The Taipei Poetry Festival hopes to exhibit the writings of the poets in a fashion representing the big picture, and to encourage everyone to act together.

Lo Si-rong has been known for putting poems into song writing. Her voice is strong and full of lyrical power. After tri-lingual album More than One featuring female poets’works, Lo presents an on-going project“ The Translingual Generation Poets, ” Based on poets from the Japanese ruling to Post-War era, who used different languages to write poetry. The emotional tunes lead us to revisit an almost-forgotten part of Taiwanese literature, with the light of poetry to lit up the difficulty at the bottom of the history, and a culture impact that is still strong today. Another essential part of the opening ceremony is poetry recital. Poets from overseas and within Taiwan will recite their poems on stage, and open the festival together.

婦 女 協 會 年 度 傑 出 女 性（ 2016 ）、 NBCNews.com 譽 她 為「 應 受 注 目 的 亞 裔 美

Kelly Tsai is an award-winning spoken word poet, theater artist, and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York. She has been featured at over 700 performances worldwide including the White House, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Apollo Theater, HBO’s“ East of Main Street: Asians Aloud ”and HBO’s“ Def Poetry.”

She's been honored as a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow in Non-Fiction Literature for her memoir-in-progress The Invisible Word (2017), a Woman of Distinction by the American Association of University Women (2016), an “ Asian American Poet to Watch ”by NBCNews.com (2015), and a National Leader Awardee by Americorps Alums (2014-2015). She is the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants (Taipei & Tainan). 的 跨 界 創 作 包 括 詩 、 劇 場 、 電 影， 一 如 臺 北 詩 歌 節 推 廣「 多 元 成 詩 」的 方 向 。

駐 市 期 間 藉 著 創 作 經 驗 與 戲 劇 演 出 的 分 享 ，首 度 與 臺 灣 文 學 界直接交流。

Kelly Tsai is a Taiwanese American, and an award-winning writer, performer, and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York. She is very aware of the history of Taiwan.

Her works are in different formats, and are in the same spirit of the“ Poetry with Diversity ” that Festival has aimed for. In this residency, Kelly is connecting with the literary circle of Taiwan for the first time sharing her creative process and theater performances.

Kelly Tsai is a renowned performance poet in the US, and has been featured at over 700 venues worldwide. She successfully incorporates poetry in different art forms, and won great receptions. Her achievements also earned her status as a well-recognized Asian-American women figure, and many arts prizes. Chu Yuehhsin has been known as a leading artist in creating original protesting songs in Taiwanese language. This meet is not only between poetry and songs, but also a clash between poetry and reality.

表、身體意象與性別歧視，以詩的語言闡述自己經歷的感受。從透過芭比娃

娃製造者，到西方人認定的亞洲工廠，到網路與社群媒體對女性外表，甚至

芭 比 娃 娃 故 事 如 何 影 響 希 拉 蕊 與 2016 美 國 總 統 大 選 等， 為 一 系 列 詩 的 主 題。 蔡 仁 儀 將 親 自 為 觀 眾 詮 釋 每 一 首 詩 ，把 它 們 演 繹 成 現 實 。 │Friday, Sep 29 & Saturday, Sep 30, 19:30 @ Nadou Theatre│ Formosa is a one person poetry show that received a grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and has been on stage in different variations since 2012. What initially started as a curiosity about the history of Barbie doll manfuacturing in Taishan, Taiwan turned into a larger poetic meditation of Kelly's own experiences as an Asian American woman growing up in the U.S. negotiating issues of culture, beauty, body image, and sexism. The show is a series of poems that range from the life of the creator of the Barbie doll to the views of Asian factories by Westerners to the effects of the internet and social media on female beauty and even the impact of Barbie's legacy on Hillary Clinton and the 2016 U.S. Presidential election. 艾菲‧保羅‧阿奇諾

Efe Paul Azino（ 奈及利亞） 來 自 非 洲 最 大 城 市 與 藝 術 文 化 前 線 拉 哥 斯 ， 艾 菲 ·保 羅·阿 奇 諾 是 奈 及 利 亞 最 知名的行為藝術家和詩人之一。他是拉哥斯國際詩歌節的創辦人和總監，也

是 拉 哥 斯 書 本 及 藝 術 節 詩 歌 部 門 的 負 責 人 。 他 製 作 的 口 語 詩 表 演《 尋 家 》 曾 參加柏林詩歌節、約翰尼斯堡活藝術節、開普頓斯皮爾酒莊國際詩歌節、阿

刻書本及藝術節等。他的詩已被翻譯為南非語、法語和德語。他受西非開放

社 會 計 畫 贊 助， 第 一 本 詩 集 為《 給 經 常 跨 越 的 破 碎 者 》 （ Farafina Books 出 版 ） ， 最 新 詩 集 《笑 聲 卡 在 喉 嚨 的 墜 落 悲 劇 》即 將 在 2017 年 9 月出版。

Efe Paul Azino is one of Nigeria’ s best-known performance artists and poets. He is the founder and director of the Lagos International Poetry Festival, and director of poetry at the annual Lagos Book and Art Festival. Azino is the producer of the spoken word poetry theater production Finding Home and has appeared at the Berlin Poetry Festival, Johannesburg Arts Alive Festival, Spier International Poetry Festival Cape Town, and the Ake Book and Arts Festival amongst others.

His poems have been translated into Afrikaans, French and German. He is an Osiwa Poetry Residency Fellow and For Broken Men Who Cross Often, published

Hirata Toshiko（日本）

詩人、作家、劇作家。曾居住島根、福岡、京都等地， 1990 年起定居東京。最 新詩集為《 戲言的自由 》（獲紫式部文學獎）。其他詩集有《詩七日》 （獲萩原朔太

郎獎）、《 轉運站 》 （ 獲晚翠獎）等。另有小說集《 雙人乘坐 》 （獲野間文藝新人

獎）、劇作集《 甜蜜的傷 》等。

Hirata Toshiko is a prominent poet, writer, playwright. Before moving to Tokyo, she lived in Shimane, Fukuoka, and Kyoto. Her latest book of poetry is The Freedom of Joking Words (Murasaki Shikibu Bungaku Prize). Her other poetry books including Seven Days of Poetry (Sakutaro Hagiwara Prize), Terminal (Bansui Prize), etc. She published a short story collection Seats Two (Noma Prize for New Writers), a script collection Sweet Womb, among others.

鍾國強

Chung Kwok-keung（香港） 鍾國強，香港出生及成長，香港大學文學院畢業。曾獲青年文學獎、中文文學

創 作 獎、 香 港 中 文 文 學 雙 年 獎、 香 港 藝 術 發 展 獎 藝 術 家 年 獎（ 文 學 藝 術）等。

著 有 詩 集《 圈 定 》、《 路 上 風 景 》、《 門 窗 風 雨 》、《 城 市 浮 游 》、《 生 長 的 房

子 》、《 只 道 尋 常 》、《 開 在 馬 路 上 的 雨 傘》， 散 文 集《 兩 個 城 市 》、《 記 憶 有 樹 》、《 字如初見 》， 小說集《 有時或忘 》， 詩評集《 浮想漫讀 》等。

Chung Kwok-keung was born and raised in Hong Kong, and graduated from Faculty of Arts, The University of Hong Kong. His honors include two successive 1 st prizes in the Hong Kong Youth Literature Poetry Awards, The Hong Kong Public Library Award for Creative Writing in Chinese, and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council ’s Annual Literary Artist Prize. Among his poetry collections are Encircled, Scenery on the Road, Doors and Windows, Wind and Rain, Adrift in the City, Growing House, On the Ordinary, and Umbrellas Blooming in the Streets. His prose includes essay collections Two Cities, The Tree of Memory,Words at First Sight, short story collection Sometimes Forgetful, and Floating Thoughts, a volume of literary criticism.

International Poets 鄧紳

Dang Than（越南） 鄧 紳 為 越 南 著 名 雙 語 詩 人、 小 說 家 和 散 文 家， 為 越 南 後 改 革 時 期 文 學 的 典 型 代 表

人 物 ， 被 譽 為 最 出 色 的 幽 默 作 家。 遺 憾

的 是 ， 他 的 作 品 被 官 方 出 版 組 織 視 為「 有 害 」。 在 他 眾 多 的 詩 集 中 ， 僅 有 一 本《 無 意

義》 （ 2014 ）曾 公 開 出 版。 紐 約 的 非 營 利 組 織《 詩 人 與 作 家 期 刊 》寫 道：「 鄧 紳 令

人讚賞之處在於極具獨特個人性格的散文

體和叛逆的調調。」他正式印行的作品涵蓋各類體裁，成為越南文學寫作風 格至為重要的轉捩點。在用詞方面，他傾向選取多個意義相近的詞彙輪替使

用，而不僅限於一個詞彙對應一個基本義的用法，展現了一種全新的篇章類

He is a notable bilingual poet, fiction writer and essayist of Vietnam. As“ the typical figure of Post-Doi Moi Literature, ”he is also“ the best humourist ever .”Unfortunately, his works were considered“ harmful ”by governmental publication organizations. Among his many poetry anthologies, only one was published entitled No Sense (2014). The New York-based“ Poets & Writers Magazine ”wrote,“ Dang is praised for his idiosyncratic prose and rebellious style. ”His officially-printed works in various genres have created the utmost important turning-point in writing style of Vietnamese literature. Alessandro Bosetti (Milano, Italy, 1973) is a composer, performer and sound artist whose works delve on musicality of spoken language, utilizing misunderstandings, translations and interviews as compositional tools. His works for voice and electronics blur the line between electro acoustic composition, aural writing and performance. He created a vast body of work of hybrid, award winning, text-sound and radio compositions for the main Radio's and Electro Acoustic Music studios in Europe as WDR, Deutschland Radio Kultur, Radio France, ABC Australia, ORF, GRM Paris. Current projects include the abstract polyphony dispositive Plane/Talea, The Notebooks based on Leos Janacek speech melodies archives, the monophonic extravaganzas Mini and Maxigolf with Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, Journal de Bord a music theatre co-production by GMEM/ CÉSARÉ/La Muse en Circuit (centres nationaux de création musicale) 2017-2018 and Mask Mirror an instrument and software that reorganizes speech for musical purposes enacting a form of electronic ventriloquism.

The synergy of music and literature together has always been appreciated by the audiences. For instance, Bob Dylan, who is the laurel of Nobel Literature Prize 2016, as well as Leonard Cohen who is beloved by poetry fans. Literature is present not only in the Campus Folk Music Movement of Taiwan in 1970s but also in the contemporary music trends. The Festival and Ma Shih-fang, who is knowledgeable of both music and literature, present a radio special featuring poet Yang Ze and musician Wang Yu-jun to discuss some great works that make two fields proud.

The Festival this year focuses on“ the time ”and“ city ”to reveal when facing the reality, poets can be grounded and fly with their imagination at the same time. Although there have been diplomatic issues between Nigeria and Taiwan, the disputes are not in the ways of poetry communication. This talk will take you to understand the distant voices of West Africa and lively local scenes of poetry and music. A young poet from Nigeria, Efe Paul Azino also a performance artist and curator is inspired by history and land, and speaks of contemporary feelings.

Chang Jui-chuan is a musician, at the same time, an activist who works with local dialects, and is devoted to broadening music genres. The host is Hung Hung, a know expert in interdisciplinary poetry and performance.

Chen Chia-tai’s poems for a long time has addressed the city’s outskirt. Hong Kong poet Chung Kwok-keung’ s poems are like growing houses, or trees that grow out of memory. They reflect life from the city he lives, or take readers to see the complicated relationship that are stacked together like wrecks. All three poets’works could be read side-by-side, however with different flavors. Together, they will discuss how to construct cities and home with poetry.

critical thinking. His books have been written in many styles that cross fiction and poetry. His works were prohibited from publishing in Vietnam between 2008 and 2011. Taiwanese writer Chang Chih-hsin grew lively curiosity and emotions toward Vietnam because of a family member coming from there and her close Vietnamese female friends. The host of the panel is Hsiang Yang who is very familiar with realism poetry and literature censorship, and obtains great humor.

Chung Kwok-keung, a stable Hong Kong poet whose writing has been continuous.

He cares for people in the city and images of families. Lo Jen-ling fits in the same generation as Chung in Taiwan, and is known for delicate descriptions of natural sceneries and human relations different from others. Two poets ’styles are unique from their contemporaries, and become paradigms for others to follow.

Luk Wing-yu, a Hong Kong born poet but long-time Taiwan resident is hosting the talk, as a bridge between Hong Kong and Taiwan.

以 臺 語寫詩，數十年累積， 蔚為大觀，從早期傾向以歷史 或 臺 灣 認 同 為 主 的 寫 作 ，到 現 在 蔓 延 到 各 式 各 樣 的 生 活 話 題 ，無 一 不 可 用 臺 語 精妙地表現出來。

邀 請 在 詩 語 塑 造 與 詩 境 開 拓 上 特 別 讓 人 驚 豔 的 李 長 青、 蘇 善 、 呂 美 親 對 談， 熟 稔 臺 語 書 寫 的 鄭 順 聰 擔 任 主 持 ，圍 繞 著 詩 來 答 嘴 鼓 。

│ Thursday Oct 5, 19:30 @B1, Sun Yun-suan Memorial Museum │ In the past few decades, writing poems in Taiwanese dialect has been a trend, and culminates to a sizable volume. In earlier days, it mostly touched on history or Taiwan identity; and today, it covers all sorts of topics, and nothing was not delicately expressed. The talk features Lee Chang-ching, Suzanne Tsai, Li Bi-chhin who are known for using Taiwanese to create poetic language and to broaden the visions. The host Tēnn Sūn-tshong knows writing in Taiwanese close to heart, and will lead the excitement around poetry.

After the rise of the internet, the eco system of media changed dramatically, and poetry has been benefited ( or damaged?) by it. Online reading is the new thing for the young readers. Is insisting on print poetry press a nostalgia or an experiment? Poets do not only act on whatever s/he pleases. They also have agents. Through the system, they release works online purposefully, and presale before printing. This session features participants in 3 different communication media to talk about their ideas and practices.

臺 灣 命 運。「 詩 與 政 治 」， 書 寫 者 與 行 動 者 2 種 身 分， 如 何 在 他 們 的 生 命 實 踐 裡合而為一？並邀請到也是文學愛讀者的另一位社會學者林秀幸主持，穿針引線。

As longtime friends, both are sociologists, and have a deep love for poetry, hence the sensitivity for words; at the same time, they are concerned for the society and the destiny of Taiwan. Between“ Poetry and politics, ”the dual identity of writer and activist, how can they realize them together in life practice? The host is another literature loving sociologist Lin Hsiu-hsin, to thread through the talk.
