This is a Harbor that people are connected to the tide.

But wait...

This is also a harbor that have the ability to mutual benifit by itself.

How about making both of them exist on the same port ?

PROGRAMS OF THE DESIGN

FISHING ON THE DOCK

There are lots of fishermen fishing on the floating dock , they fish randomly in the harbor.

Insert some fishing spot on the yacht docking area to meet the needs of the fishermen.

DRANGON BOAT COMPETITION

The only dragon boat competition in Taiwan take place at Zhuwei Harbor. People stand on the side of the port when watching the race. Inserted platform provide a place for audience to watch the race, and allow more activities to take place in the future.

PORT UNIT TYPE - FIXED

People can observe the variation of the tide in the building, and enjoy the view of the world under water.

FLOODING TIDE

EBBING TIDE

When flooding, the sea level is higher.

It is sutible for fishing boat to sail in and out the port.

The sea water extend toward the port by submerging the volume.

When ebbing, the sea level is lower.

The port extend toward the ocean, so that people can walk by the water side.

PORT UNIT TYPE - FLOATING

People on the port can change their relationship with the floating unit by controlling the water tank.

SINKING

FLOATING

People can get on the boat from the top of the unit at a same water level.

The unit floats above the water when there are different activities happening, and allows people to get on the top from the port.

HALL MARKET This Hall Market is a place where people can pass by when they want to go to the restaurant.

It is like an underwater tunnel, people can observe the level of sea from the inside.

EXHIBITION This is a place seperated from the main building, and is designed for exhibition.The people inside can experience a space where the wave is projected inside the interior.

FESHERY MARKET Under ground Fishery Market allows people to watch at the the nature of the ocean and the variation of the tide, which changes the way how people feel everytime the come th the market.

RESTING & VIEW This is a resting space for people to sit and enjoy the view of the port, people inside can watch the in and out of the fishing boats.

HOTEL The hotel of the port allows people to stay and experience more living of the Harbor. They can sail with the fishermen early in the morning, experiencing something different from their own life.

RESTAURANT Restaurant where people can come and eat the seafood they just bought from the market.

This area also has a view of the center of the harbor, people can watch different kind of boats sailing in and out.

RACE WATCHING UNIT People come when there is dragon boat race orother competition. This unit can only arrived by the boat.

FISHERY STORAGE A place for fishermen or the vendors to store the fresh seafood.

YACHT CLUB Seperated Unit for yacht use, but it can also become a view or competition watching area by controlling the water tank.

FISHING PLATFORM A platform designed for people to fish inside the port.People can fish in different direction.

When flood tide, Fishing people can be watched from the underwater market.

SUN RISE CAFE A platform and a cafe for people to watch the sunrise. People must pass by before they go to the fishing platform.

HOTEL Hotel area for tourists to live.

OUTDOOR PLATFORM Top floor of the restaurant, people can watch the view and feel the wind of the harbor.

FISHING BOAT DOCK Fishing boats unload their goods here and send them directly to the storage or the market.

SEA WATER POOL A swimming pool for people to play, and it changes its water level by the tide level .

SIGHTSEEING OBSERVATORY Outdoor observatatory where people can only walk there when ebb tide

HOTEL Hotel enterance and service center for tourists.
