ASHMERE TALK

Sharon is our hairdresser, however she goes above and beyond the call of duty. She will sit and chat with the residents help them at meal times and once a month she comes in on her own free time to our Bistro evenings to accompany a resident whose relatives are unable to attend. She often pops in during the week to chat despite having small children at home. Nominated by Kate Leivers

Sharon Blackmore - West Hallam Employee of the month for January Mandy is a committed and conscientious member of the team and will go beyond her role to support the home. Mandy drives the mini bus so that residents can go on regular trips out, and will then return to the home and cover a shift. The only time Mandy has ever complained to me is when I recently booked her on a days training and then gave her 2 days off - she felt like she hadn’t been at work for ages!! Nominated by Rachel Tattershaw

Mandy Brown - The Firs Employee of the month for December

KING WILLIAM NEWS

Residents Birthdays: Many happy returns to Minnie Hubball, Gillian Horton, Jane Wood, Bill Warren and Jean Ellis! We hope that you all enjoyed your special days. January saw King William enjoy a fantastic Twist N Jive performance from Razzle Dazzle. The residents really enjoyed it, singing along to a lot of the songs and dancing in their seats. Dorothy was especially impressed by their colourful dresses. They even sung Happy Birthday to Jane, who turned 90 this month. Alan Hill also came along to perform for us this month and it was great! He sung lots of songs that we could sing along to and we enjoyed his stories behind the music. He also sung Happy Birthday to Gillian, which made her day. We tried a new Chair Based Exercise instructor at King William, and lots of the residents joined in. Freda even went to the front with Sarah and helped to demonstrate.
