6thstreetplayhouse.com 707 523-4185 52 West 6th Street Santa Rosa, CA 95401

The 2019-20 Season is packed with five celebrated plays and five showstopper musicals. All of us at the Playhouse have worked hard to make sure we deliver the kind of professional and entertaining productions you have come to expect.

JENNA V. LOCEFF Production Manager

We are elated to welcome Broadway star Kathy Fitzgerald back to the Playhouse after performing in a fundraiser here in 2016, and to now have her on board for an entire production! Kathy is a dear friend of mine and I am excited to be directing her in this fantastic show. She, along with Broadway-bound Carmen Mitchell as daughter Louise, are a dynamic duo that I’m sure will astound you. Gypsy: A Musical Fable chronicles one family’s rise to stardom, and The Playhouse is eager to showcase the outstanding talent of both a Broadway veteran, that of a young actor on the rise, and an incredible ensemble of actors ready for ‘their turn’.

CONOR WOODS Technical Director

Please let me know what you think throughout this season and whether I can do anything else to make your experience here even better.

CAST BIOS KATHY FITZGERALD* (Mama Rose) ) is a Broadway character actress extraordinaire who got her Great White Way start playing multiple roles in the Johnny Burke revue Swinging on a Star, and juggled several characters, including fabulously butch lighting designer Shirley Markovitz, during her six-year stint in the original Producers. Other Broadway credits include the scene-stealing office assistant Roz in 9 to 5, roles in The Next Three Days and Our Idiot Brother, the malicious headmistress Madame Morrible in Wicked, and currently as the absent-minded Mrs. Gloop in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In the interim, he has worked in the regions, lived in NYC for 25 years where he was a member of Circle Rep and a regular on David Letterman, got married to Kathy, and became the Father of Hope, both of whom are involved in this production. It’s good to be back. CARMEN MITCHELL* (Louise) grew up as a competitive figure skater and ballet dancer. She now works as a professional singer and actor. Carmen’s credits include many leading roles in musicals, short films, commercials, concerts, and professional ice shows. Favorites include: Christine Daae in Phantom of the Opera, Maria in West Side Story, Fantine in Les Misérables, and Juliet in Romeo & Juliet.
