Delivering 508 and ADA Compliant Events 6Connex supports the requirements of 508 and ADA via a comparable, but alternative non-graphical offering for individuals with disabilities. Because of the nature of having multiple layers and spaces, compliance for screen reader / voice controlled / non-mouse access is not possible in the graphical interface but it is easily achievable via a comparable offering.
Graphical The graphical environment delivers multiple layers of navigation, rooms, content, and visuals. Attendees with hearing impairments can easily, and without a diminished experience, participate in any graphical event.
To accomplish this, we advise clients to include either:
Closed captioning as a webcasting add-on for sessions delivered live.
Pre-record webcasting sessions, offering a copy of the slide deck and speaker notes to attendees.
Non-Graphical This comparable offering is a simplified HTML interface with direct links to rooms and content. Attendees with disabilities requiring an alternative navigational approach, can have access to the same content offered to those in the graphical environment. This HTML interface runs in tandem with the graphical event.
