La Naturelle A Newly-Lauched Cosmetics Brand in Cameroon CLIENT : La Naturelle

Brand Objective: Building a domestic cosmetic and beauty brand that capitalizes on using natural ingredients and local botanic resources such as tropical fruits and flowers, tea leaves, almonds and cocoa beans for the Cameroon young females.

Business Situation: Seeing a growing demands of the needs for cosmetic and skin care products in the huge African females market, the young and talented Emerson College alumnus and a business entrepreneur, Mike, has moved to Cameroon right after graduation and decided to found a domestic cosmetic and beauty brand in Cameroon to capture this market. The critical question for Mike will be: what kind of brand and products will mark as a successful market entry in this country?

ANIMATION Design

i. LOVE 2D Animation i. LOVE is a 2D animation design project using Adobe Illustrator CS6, Adobe Animation CS6, Adobe Premier CS6 and Adobe Audition CS6. The storyline features a group of Generation Zers who are considered to be the so-called Digital Natives in today’s digital era.

Being a college student who majored in Communication Arts and Multimedia Design, I had no interest in Marketing, but this changed when, as a micro-filmmaker and a creator of animation, I started to notice it was getting harder to catch the attention of today’s teens. This is Generation Z, a group of digital natives who cannot be ignored,despite their youth. Their attention spans are getting shorter, they think in 4D, communicate with symbols and images, and their reliance on mobile devices has left them with a lack of situational awareness. From that time, I have had a goal to reach the mysterious and changeable Generation Z, and the idea of digital marketing has become fascinating to me.

Cars 3D Maya Animation Cars is a 3D Animation Design Project using Maya, Adobe Audition CS6 and Adobe Premier CS6. From portotyping to modeling and from animating objects to camera motions, they were all conducted in Maya. And then I used Adobe Audition and Premier for the sound effects, story scripts and the background music.

Currently, I am still a beginner learning Maya and 3D Art Direction design, however, with my ambition and great efforts, apart from 2D animation design, I also wish to be a pro 3D animator or art director in the Marketing and Advertising field some day in the future.

LOGO Design

Milk Logo Design Branding Project This was one of my branding projects for dairy brands when I was working for a local branding consultancy back in Taipei, Taiwan. This brand reflects a touch of intimacy, showing how human beings as mammals can not live without milk and dairy products in daily lives, but in a minimal and contemporary way.

Every day, dairy farmers give their cows water to drink and a mixture of hay and grains to eat. Cows’ bodies turn this food into milk. Two or three times a day, farmers milk their cows, using a special machine attached to the cows’ udders. Milk is then stored in a refrigerated tank on the farm. Farmers test the milk to make sure it is wholesome. Every other day or so, trucks visit each dairy farm to pick up the milk and take it to a factory. From farm to table, this is the journey of MILK. Tasty. Since 1881.

Coffee Cup Design One of the packaging design I helped with the design team of my previous working place, a local branding consultanct firm in Taipei, Taiwan. The packaging design concept of this brand was minimalism. The brand communicates a feeling of urban yuppies and local artisits who live in a fast-paced metropolitan city where working on Macbooks while sipping a cup of cappaccino on Sunday morning is quite a luxury.

Geometry Typeface This was one of the Typeface projects I have created druing the time when I was working for a Digital Marketing agency in Boston. The design concept was to use geometry as the typography elements to show a sense of contemporary and minimal feeling of the letters.
