Just to give you a rough idea of my capability in executing communications initiatives, here are some samples with a brief description of the objective(s) and/or the purpose of including them. Filename: Exhibit A This is a compilation of several emails to internal stakeholders and external clients/partners that demonstrates the analytical and persuasive approach to communication. Filename: Global Sources CEO speech This is the draft of a short and unconventional speech for the CEO to welcome new hires at Global Sources. It is a departure from the routine treatment that contains endless mission statements but runs short on motivating the troops. Filename: Global Sources CSR Presentation This is a short presentation to help key stakeholders at Global Sources understand what China Sourcing Reports, a market intelligence research report that was at the core of the company's content strategy, is all about. Filename: Global Sources Editorial Presentation 2006 This is a half-yearly presentation to key stakeholders at Global Sources regarding the performance and outlook for vertical trade magazines. It is also a time to seek buy-in from sales, marketing and editorial bureaus on the commitment for the period ahead. Filename: Special Feature A special Christmas supplement developed to entice advertisers to place ads in the December edition of Digital Home. It was relatively easy to execute on the part of editorial and gave potential advertisers a lot mileage without appearing that the special feature was a paid advertorial. Filename: SYP - history Compiled the history of SingTel Yellow Pages to feature on the company's corporate intranet. This was a special project outside the scope of my responsibility, but I enjoyed digging up the bits and pieces of information that might be helpful to a typical newcomer to the company. Filename: Understanding eWEEK Asia This is an internal memo to the sales team to let them understand how to pitch the magazine to existing and potential advertisers. Filename: Widescreen - Samsung When I was the editor/publishing manager for Digital Home (SmartHome Asia Marketing), the company faced a cash crunch and I had to double up as sales to keep things going. However, due to my dual role as an editor for the magazine, I had to approach this delicate situation with care to avoid compromising the integrity of editorial (and the company). Instead of selling a straight advertisement, I came up with a creative buy for Samsung whereby it sponsored our DVD Review section with the editorial copy featured on the LCD screen of its LCD TV, which was printed on a gatefold. Attached is the PDF sample of the ad and the corresponding contract details. Filename: Windows Live Spaces edit This is a recent announcement from Microsoft's Windows Live Team (received via my Hotmail account) that I have taken the liberty to edit and enhance, to show you the kind of attention I pay to get a message across correctly.
