聲音是什麼呢 ?

What is sound? 這是我在畢業設計之前、當中一直 在思考的事情，透過聲音帶給人的 氛圍是最吸引我的地方 Before and in the graduation design ,I am thinking about what is sound.

The most interesting in sound is the atmosphere it brings.

Cave of the Nativity Cave of the Nativity Church&community centre Sound church I consider the Cave of the Nativity,the birthplace of Jesus as the birth of Christianity,and chorus sound is the Sound church message of God. On the third and fourth grade I try to make people feel the changing of sound through different activity space and the material layer on the skin. 在畢業設計之中我去發現、定義聲 音的不同意義，在一個故事裡的聲 音發現了可以用設計詮釋的方法， 讓空間、時間、活動、材料與聲音 本身傳遞的訊息讓人在裡面感受一 段紀念船難的故事 ......

Sound belong to Cijin - - - - - - - - - - wind The length of Cijin biking path along with the island is 15.5km, and wind-driven generator with1.5kWp will stand on the land every 50m as 300 total.

It will brings Cijin 105,000 kWh every year ,and it will lower down the content of CO2 to 65.4 tonsCO2/year.

Sound refinding library Which sound can present the library?

I think that only the sound of environment can present the library itself.

In the graduation thesis design I try to redefine different ways of sound and found some ways to interpret a sound in the shipwreck.

With space,time,activities and materials to make people memory the shipwreck in the scenarios......

/ 如何量測一段不可見的距 離?

/「聲音」能夠量測一段 不可見的距離 We can measure an invisible distance with 「sound」

How to measure an invisible distance? 一開始我問了一個問題 「如何量測一段不可見的距離 ?」

而我發現了「聲音」能夠量測一 段不可見的距離， 我們能夠透過聲音直接感受到對 方所處環境的氛圍， 因而拉近或疏遠了彼此之間的距 離。

舉例來說 2020 年捷運站間的五百公尺對於我們來 說 是近的， 但台北 101 的五百公尺對於我們 卻是遙遠的， 2017 Yang Hui Yi Graduation Thesis Design

And I find we can measure an invisible distance with sounds, the distance will become closer of farther than usual in sounds.

「距離」在我們的認知裡就像是一把能 夠縮放的比例尺 First,how to measure an invisible distance?

For example,the distance between Taipei Mrt station is 500m,and it is short for us.

But the 500 meters in Taipei 101 is relative far for us.

So,our feelings of distance is relatives like a scale ruler.

/ 等距離的遙遠 far away in the same diatance 就像在 coloumbus circle 裡面，我們透 過水聲而感受到與繁雜交通的疏遠。 所以聲音是一個媒介去讓人感受距離。 Just like in the coloumbus circle ,we can feel that we are getting far away from the traffic in the sound of water,so the sound is a media to us to feel the distance.

/ 聲音實驗 Experiment sound 我嘗試用不同材質的樂器去模擬物件和 空間的聲音，並且用樂譜紀錄聲音 不同長度的弦會有相對不同高低的音高 不同管徑大小的空間會容納相對不同大 小的音量 在聲音的實驗裡可以聯想到一個動作與 物件產生的活動

I experiment sound with different object to imitate sound of space(program of space).

Different length of string make different pitch,and different pipe diameter makes different volume.

/ 事件 + 時間 + 空間 Event+Time+Space 聲音的空間由活動、時間及空間 組成，讓人隨時間以及活動的變 化在空間裡感受不同的氛圍 例如在建築系館裡聲音隨著時間 產生不同的活動而變化，尤其在 夜晚裡冷氣、燈光等機械的聲音 會被異常的放大 The sound of space consisted of activities,time and space that we can feel the changing atmosphere as time.

For example, we can hear extremely sound of air conditioner and other machine at night in the architecture department.

/ 告解室 Confessional 在小設計裡，我從一個人的告解室、雨 的告解室以及風的告解室，創造一個讓 病人看病前在這裡告解的路徑 在尚未到達、到達的路徑上以及路徑的 終點都是告解的過程，所以告解是並不 僅限在一個「室」 In the midterm design,I design the sequence of confessional,self confessional,rain confessional and wind confessional where patients pass by and confess.

In the scenario,the confessional isn't only in ''a room'' but also on the sequence of rooms.

/ 熱鬧到寧靜 Noise to Quiet 從熱鬧的連接鄰近國小活動的廣場，到 透過樹木之間的石頭鋪面通道進入寧靜 的一個人的告解室 From the playground with louder sound near elementary school to stone pavements between trees with quieter sound.

/ 雨的告解室 Rain Confessional 在越來越厚的牆壁之後的安靜， 透過石板雨遮與漸漸隨時間呈現 不同狀態的石椅聽見雨滴的聲音 With thicker wall,we can hear clearly raindrops through stone ceiling and stone chair.

/ 慢慢地聽見 hearing sound slowly 聽見雨的聲音 , 與書本對話的書的告解 室 , 在風的告解室裡透過高度攀爬感受 身體的變化 , 回望前面的路 , 慢慢重新 聽見聲音 Hearing the sound of rain,books and wind,we can feel the changes of body with elevation we reach on the top and hear the different sound slowly.

透過小設計的練習 , 在聲音裡的尺寸 , 高度 , 材質 , 都是因為空間而讓人相對 感受那段距離

就像一個測距儀一樣 , 在這裡聲 音不只是實質的 , 還包含回憶或 是故事 , 我們需要透過一扇窗戶 , 從聲音裡感受距離

/ 旗津的距離 distance in Cijin 我尋找的距離是旗津與高雄之間的距 離, 因為高雄港的開發而讓旗津與高雄之間 因為一段故事而被人們記得。 第一條是鼓山和旗津 , 另一個是中洲到 前鎮的距離 , 而中洲就是這段故事的基 地 Qianzhen

And the distances i found is in Cijin,and there are only two cruise between kaohsiung and Cijin One is at the front,second is at the middel and Zhongzhou is my site.

The scene and sound in the cruise what we see and hear change by the distance.

For example a daughter waiting for her father back home is changed by the closer of whistle of ship and the sound of engine. in this case,we can see that the story somehow change the way we see the distance.

/「高中六號船難」 The shipwreck during 1960s-1970s / light industry 我尋找到的故事就是高中六號船難 , 因 為加工出口區以及第二港口的開發 , 讓 中洲的許多女工只能透過這個航線去高 雄工作 The story i find is the shipwreck in Zhongzhou and Qianzhen,because of 1966 land reclamation to Processing export area and 1967 second harbor Open,Zhongzhou is been solated by traffic and there are much demand of workers.

但也因為這個事件讓旗津尾端的 交通改善。

在 1973 / 9 / 3 船的航線因為船身進水而 被停泊在對岸的 63 碼頭 , 有 25 個女工 沉入海水死亡

Due to the shipwreck ,the traffic has been improved.

the original route is from Zhongzhou ferry to Qianzhen pier,but because of the shipwreck,they were forced to stop at th e 63 pier across from the site.

/2019 旗津 2019 kaohsiung 高雄港未來的開發 , 使原本的面貌漸漸 改變 , 這個渡輪站所發生的故事已經漸 漸地消失，所以我認為這段五百公尺需 要被記錄下來 By the time to 2019,kaohsiung will be developed to torism hot spot.

It is in the future scene.

So I think the 500 metres should be recorded.

/獨 lonely 1973 年 9 月 3 號 6:50am 的中洲渡輪站 風平浪靜，我一如往常急著趕往碼頭搭 最後一班船，街上塞滿了急著前往加工 出口區的人，我急著想攀上那艘船的扶 手，只要有一個位置可以容納半個身體 就足夠了。 I hurry to the last boat class which is crowded with passengers to processing export area,I climb up to the only one railing I can hold.

/凝 gaze 到達岸邊時， 大家急著擠向艙門，但 因為爭先恐後互相擁擠，沒有人能夠擠 出艙外，我們就被沉浸入海水中了，直 到我漸漸地看不見海面上折射進船的光 以及聲響。 September 3rd 7:05am 500m from ferry station When the ferry lies along the 63 pier,we all crowded to port but lossing the balance,the ferry toss us into the water.I can only see the light and hear the sound up the water surface until dark and quiet .

At present, the Zhongzhou ferry station and nearby Zhongzhou police station are still facing the port and doing their daily patrol. From the land to the ocean, we need accurate controls of the time and distance in order to return safely from sailing.

I will record 500meters with the four elements in site program,and the program is ferry station and police office.And there are fishing market,shiprepair near the site.

Except for the rush hours, we should wait for one hour for the ferry.I put the four characters in the shipwreck and scatter in the ferry station and police office during this one hour.

/ 開始 Opening 你來到了渡輪站，你買完船票後往前 走，因為樹葉掉落而微微顯露了一扇門 You arrive the ferry station,buying the tickets and forward to the pier.

When leaves fall,you can find a door behind the trees on the left.

/ 發現 find 你打開了一個只能一個人走的走 道，因為牆越來越厚而感受到安 靜 Opening and walking in a narrow aisle with thicker wall and feeling quieter.

/沉 sink

走入水上的廊道前，你一直看向前方的 柱子，就像上船前的垂直的欄杆，當你 踏上最後一階時，可以頓時間聽見水和 鐵板的震動，墊起腳尖就可以看見外面 的水

當你進入「沉」的廊道，因為 水與鐵板之間的震動以及斜坡 的扶手而感受水聲漸漸的接近 並覆蓋自己。

Before into the "sink" aisle,you see the coloumn at the front as the boat pole.

And when you reach the last step to the "sink",you can hear the water and see the scene outside with a little foot pad.

As you reach the cold coloumn and step on the metal aisle,hearing louder and louder water and the water is covering your head with the slope of water handrail.

你走在玻璃磚牆的背面，25 個鐵盒子 的輪廓微微的透過玻璃顯露，並且隨著 石面的扶手看見家鄉

在「漂」的房裡你看見了 25 個 盒子，你擺了一些她喜歡的物品 在盒子裡 , 水聲隔離了她們，就 像在船難裡那些被分離的姊妹， 而你在這裡再度與她相遇

You walk on the back of glass brick wall,seeing the 25 boxes reveal through the transparent glass and hometown through the glass.

In the"flow",you meet the 25 boxes and put some stuff she used to like in it,water falling from ceiling and seperate the boxes,but you meet her again here.

/ 時間 time 你慢慢的走進黑暗，時間被時鐘的聲音 標示的異常清楚 , 你必須越來越小心的 走路，因為隨著你越靠近時間的聲音， 腳下的踏板就越小且越安靜。 You walk in the dark only with clock ticking clearer and clearer,and the time is been marked extremely clear .Your footstep become careful because the width of step is shorter and shorter and more quiet.

你經歷了一段越來越黑暗、安靜只擁有 時鐘的滴答聲，轉身之後，你看見對岸 的 25 棵樹

對岸的樹有些像是姊妹般的彼此 緊靠，有些分離整齊的排列。

After you exprience a dark corridor only with the sound of clock ticking.

When you turn around,you meet the 25 trees.

Seeing the 25 trees some close to each other like sisiters,some are divided with same distance.

/凝 gaze 在「凝」的走道裡，慢慢地接近水的潮 濕與聲音，最後在盡頭推開沉重的門， 布簾因而揮舞，你在風聲下看見了五百 公尺，你記得也紀念了這個景象。 In the aisle of "gaze",smelling the moisture and hearing the water clearer as you reach the end.At last you push a heavy door feeling the streaming of air with curtain and gazing the scene the shipwreck happen.You see the scene and memory.
