The other is with Katie’s neighbor, a lady named Jo. Katie begins to let down her guard with the folks in the community and becomes increasingly attached to Alex and his family. Even as Katie gets more comfortable, she struggles with the dark secret that caused her to make the journey across the country, eventually ending up in the safe haven of Southport.

PLANTATION MANOR & CH 732

At the CSA Annual Members Meeting on Wednesday, February 17, there was a gasp out of Donnette “Donnie” Hilton when her name was read as the recipient of this annual Volunteer of the Year award. She volunteers every year to put the presentation together, but had decided against it this year due to COVID-19. So it was the perfect time for us to honor such a great leader in our community. After a political career in Minnesota, Donnie & Mike Hilton moved to The Great Outdoors in 2007. She became a Condo President and Chairman of the Policy Committee in her first year as a TGO resident. Donnie volunteers her time teaching Robert’s Rules of Order and serving as a Notary for our community. She is also a Courtesy Patrol Officer, working hard to keep TGO a safe place to live for everyone. Congratulations Donnie, on being the 2020-2021 Volunteer of the Year for The Great Outdoors!

U.S. Navy pilot, Pete Mitchell, is sent to Miramar Naval Air Station for advanced training at the elite fighter weapons school where the students compete to be the best in the class, or the “Top Gun.” He vies mainly with Tom Kasansky for the coveted award. When not so occupied, Mitchell carries on a romance with civilian consultant Charlotte Blackwood. Shaken up by the death of a friend, Mitchell loses the “Top Gun” honor to his rival, Kasansky. Worried that he may have lost his nerve, Mitchell is given a chance to redeem his reputation during an international crisis involving a crippled US ship and a flock of predatory enemy planes. This 1986 movie brought a young Tom Cruise to stardom.
