HRISTOPHER HELT FOUNDED HIS LAW FIRM WITH A GOAL TO REDEFINE THE LANDSCAPE OF IMMIGRATION LAW, offering an aggressive and innovative approach to representing clients in America’s immigration courts. His diverse client base ranges from those who come to America with literally nothing more than the “shirts on their backs” to highly successful community, business and political leaders all wishing to realize the American dream. DURING A CAREER SPANNING 20 YEARS, Chris has assisted clients in navigating through complexities of U.S. immigration law before many of the nation’s immigration courts and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. Representative cases include federal circuit published decisions, including lead counsel in Merchant v. U.S. Attorney General, 461 F.3d 1375 (11th Cir. 2006). Chris has maintained a commitment to providing service to his community, and is the 2013-14 recipient of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Director’s Community Leadership Award, the FBI’s principal award given to “honor individuals and organizations for their efforts in combating crime, terrorism, drugs, and violence in America.” He is currently rated as an AV Preeminent® Peer Review-Rated Lawyer, Martindale-Hubbell®’s highest rating for legal competence and ethical integrity, as judged by his peers in the legal community. Chris is a 2015 Illinois SuperLawyer and welcomes attorney referrals.
