What drew you to support 4KIDS mission?

One weekend, there was a 4KIDS presentation at my church and I remember reading "Until every child has a home" on one of the staff's shirts. That phrase really stuck out to me. A place to live does not automatically mean it is a home. A home is not necessarily a place at all, but rather a deep feeling of belonging, safety, and love. The current foster system seems focused on finding an orphaned or endangered child a place to stay, but not necessarily a home.

After listening to the presentation, I realized 4KIDS is an organization dedicated not only to finding children in need real homes, but they go a step further to truly support the healing of the child in that home. I felt so compelled to take part in their mission especially after listening to the different testimonials of kids that were still in crisis and in desperate need of hope.

What made you want to become a Defender?

A couple weeks after the presentation, my best friend and I decided to go to 4KIDS Open House event to find out more ways we could be involved and we noticed some people wearing yet another 4KIDS t-shirt that said "Love defends every child." We had to have them! We asked how we could get them and they let us know that you only received that particular shirt by giving at least $30 a month. Since I was hoping to get more involved, (and I wanted the blue shirt) this seemed like a really great option.

One day I would love to foster and hopefully adopt. Sadly I don't find myself in a position to do that right now, but to give 30 dollars a month? That I can do, right now!
