Our self-perception Witt-Gruppe is a leading textile mail order company that targets the 50plus age group. The quality to price ratio of the clothing, underwear and home textiles that we supply throughout Germany and Europe is well above average. As a mail order company with a tradition that dates back more than 100 years, we know our target group better than virtually anyone else. We want to expand our leading position in our existing areas of business and to invest in new ideas and markets. In order to achieve this, we are ready to take any opportunity offered by the market and to adopt new approaches. What sets us apart from our competitors is that we actually implement the principles of a modern and professional, yet still traditional company, whilst always focusing on our customers and employees. These principles are the foundation on which we successfully develop our current and future strategies.

For reasons of easier legibility, we have refrained from the simultaneous use of both the male and female genders. The use of the male gender automatically includes the female gender.

What are we particularly good at?

7

8

Our range encompasses more than 28,000 items in total, which are used to produce some 20,000 pages of catalogues each season.

9

Our target group The number of older people and their share in the overall population are increasing. They form the lion‘s share of our clientele. At the same time, our target groups are changing: The lifestyles of older people are becoming more diverse. The largely traditional, home-based lifestyles that are still common today will be enhanced by a more active and individualised approach to life. Moreover, both known and new competitors can be expected to discover this promising market. So the battle for customers will become even fiercer in future We therefore strive to regularly adapt the products we offer and our concepts to the lifestyle of our target group as the only means of securing the same level of inspiration among our customers of the future as we do among our customers of today. 10

We win our customers over with an inordinately wide range of sizes and fits, numerous special sizes and top quality finishes.

13

Our brands We grasp the opportunities offered by the changes taking place in the 50plus market and grow together with our target groups. We started adjusting to the changes in this market right from an early stage. We consistently exploit the possibilities and structures within Witt-Gruppe when building, improving and internationalising our labels. Our goal, both now and in the future, is to develop and implement new and attractive ideas for the 50plus market.

14

Our “WITT WEIDEN“, “Sieh an!“, “création L“ and “ambria“ brands offer customised products for different lifestyles. This enables us to better exploit our existing customer base, while at the same time approaching new groups of customers. We use the “WITT International“ and “Your Look ... for less!“ labels to adapt the concepts we have tried and tested in Germany to the requirements of our customers abroad.

How do we present our company?

15

16

The “WITT WEIDEN label is the core of Witt Gruppe. We celebrated its 100th birthday in 2007 with a huge party with employees and their families.

17

Our strategy Tradition and modernity are closely linked within Witt-Gruppe. Our retailing expertise is our biggest strength. We specialise in fashions for the over-50s. Over the last century we have gained a wealth of experience in, and an in-depth understanding of, not just mail order business but also all sales channels. The first Witt store opened in Kaiserslautern in 1959. We now operate more than 75 physical stores throughout Germany. We have also been selling through the internet since 1998. The network nowadays comprises more than ten internet shops in seven countries. We rely primarily on catalogues as our core competence but are also increasingly availing ourselves of the opportunities offered by the internet. Our goal is, however, still to ensure that our customers can purchase ever more quickly and easily. In addition, we are continuously expanding our physical retail presence – our „face in the marketplace“ – in Germany.

18

What is our approach?

19

20

Our online shops have been recording double-digit growth rates for years.

21

Our future We want to be the largest predominantly mail order retail group for textiles in the 50plus market in Europe. This is how we wish to shape our future :

• We grasp the opportunities offered by the changes taking place in the 50plus market and grow together with our target groups. • We venture into new markets. • We exploit shared potentials. • We make it easy for our customers.

22

The ongoing construction of our new merchandise logistics centre, in which we are investing some 38 million euros, marks a milestone in our efforts to shape the future and is proof of our clear commitment to Weiden. Step by step, we are gradually going to increase the usable floor space from currently 27,000 m2 to as much as 100,000 m² between now and 2020.

We are consistently expanding our “face on the market“, the high street shops: There will be over 200 WITT WEIDEN stores by 2020.

Our responsibility „Society can only function if all individuals are prepared to contribute within the framework of their possibilities. Our corporate policy is aligned to the principle of sustainability. We combine economicallyoriented actions with the promotion of ecological and social goals.“ Dr. Michael Otto

Entrepreneurial actions must be aligned to the future and must create a balance between economic growth, social responsibility and the sustainable preservation of natural resources and our environment. The companies within Otto Group are consistently increasing their commitment, for example by continually reducing the CO2 emissions generated through transportation, mobility and site issues as part of the climate protection strategy that was approved at the end of 2007 with the aim of securing a 50 percent reduction by 2020. In its mission statement, Witt-Gruppe joins all other companies within Otto Group in confirming its commitment to ecological sustainability and social responsibility. The company lives up to this responsibility, for example, by controlling the social standards of its suppliers or by utilising organic cotton. As one of the oldest and largest employers in the region, our ties to our site in Weiden are particularly close. The construction of our new merchandise logistics centre has enabled us to secure numerous jobs in the region

Our history 10 0 y e a r s o f q u a l i t y f r o m t h e h e a r t

The history of our company started 100 years ago in a small shop in Reuth, in the Upper Palatinate region. Witt-Gruppe operates in nine countries with eight brands and is one of the leading European fashion mail order companies on the promising „50plus“ market. The milestones 19 07
