“MERRY CHRISTMAS” As you get set for just about everyone’s favourite time of the year, a time to spend with family and friends, it’s the time we go mad and max out our credit cards, put on weight from eating Mums home cooked Turkey instead of take out, as you get set to pack your bags for your well deserved holiday, we at one80news set you one little Christmas task. Pay it forward, buy someone you don’t know a small gift and take it to one of the local HIV centres, or homeless shelters. Buy a few extra cans of food and drop off at the local hospices, or throw those small coins you get back in change at the bar into the charity tin and spread the joy. Christmas is a time to share and give, and even a smile or a thank you to the stressed out cashiers in the high streets and local supermarkets, would go a long way. A Merry Christmas wish to the neighbour you have never met, leave a bottle of wine out for the local Postman, or the milkman or even dustbin man, a little thanks goes a log way. From all of us at one80 news we just want to say thank you to our readers and next year we will be back with a great new look. Merry Christmas.

We would like to thank all the contestants and their supporters for a fantastic past few months. The journey is far from over as we set out and have our Christmas Break, celebrate the New Year and get ready for the Semi-finals in January. We have had many different comments come through to us about Queer As Talent, I think for the most though it is from people that perhaps have no interest in the LGBT community, yet they are happy to sit at home and watch the X Factor and Britains Got Talent. Fantastic shows, I love them but what we are trying to do with Queer As Talent is let members of our community be themselves and share their talent with their Gay and Lesbian Brothers and Sisters. We appreciate that maybe the publicity is overwhelming at times, but we don’t have the advertising budgets XFactor have, we do however have two voices. 3sixty magazine and one80 news and we will use these voices to get the message out to our community that there are some kids
out there with some fantastic talent and they need your support. The semi finals start around the country on January 12th, with huge shows and strong performers, all wanting a place in the Grand finals. All we ask is to take a few hours out of your week and come and watch the shows.

Just see the excitement in the voices of the contestants, and the amazing strength they have. Many have never performed in front of huge crowds and this contest is not only giving them experience but also bringing them out of the closet, so to speak.

WORLD AIDS DAY THE WAY WE REMEMBERED
Vigils and Events around the UK.
Up and down the country the December 1st marked world AIDS day and people around the UK marked the day from vigils to remember friends, family and partners who are living with HIV or have passed away. Bars and pubs hosted world AIDS day events in order to raise funds for what is still a much needed cause. In Manchester people gathered in Sackville Park, in the city centre, from 7pm on Tuesday, December 1, to mark the international day of HIV and AIDS awareness. The town hall displayed a large red ribbon and an information stall at the Christmas markets will be offering advice and guidance over the weekend. Manchester’s deputy leader Councillor
Val Stevens said: “The vigil is a chance to reflect on those we have lost and to celebrate the lives of those who are living with HIV and Aids.”
In other parts of the country, bars and pubs hosted events in order to raise the awareness of HIV and AIDS and held collections and events to raise money for much needed HIV and AIDS related charities. In London the Ku-Bar held a charity auction where selected bar-boys were auctioned off to raise funds for the charity Food Chain which supplies healthy meals to those living with HIV. The event which was hosted by Boogaloo Stu was a roaring success. In the Thames Valley, bars such as The Malthouse and The Wynford Arms ran collections during their weekend events for world AIDS day and The Wynford Arms is

ran a week long collection campaign for the worthy cause. Other events included a HIV / ADIS sponsored run across Oxford where a team of runners were sponsored to run around the university city streets and a sponsored dinner as well, with public speakers and talks about HIV and AIDS – promoting a range of causes relating to world AIDS day. Further North in Scotland vigils ran across Edinburgh and Glasgow with remembrance events and street collections handing out ribbons to information on HIV and AIDS. With Scottish NHS also pushing for further outreach testing for HIV and local city bars and clubs having more information on HIV available to the wider community. Crusade the HIV and AIDS charity ran their Think, Talk, Act, Give campaign –which is another campaign to raise the awareness

CAMERONPROMISES SUPPORT EQUALITY IN MS JASONS CIVIL THAI’S 4 LIFE PARTNERSHIPS The leader of the Tory party David Cameron announced that if the conservative party win the next general election that he would synchronise the rights of couples in Civil Partnerships. The Civil Partnerships Act, which came into force in 2005, gave gay couples all the rights of marriage. These has been a strong inclination within recent years by the Conservative Party to embrace LGBT issues, the question which begs to be asked is if they do win the next election, how far will those promises extend.
GAY RAPE A man is currently on trial at Woolwich crown court for sexual assaults on gay men in London. Mohamad Caid, 38, from Deptford, was charged in June with one rape, two attempted rapes, sexual assault and false imprisonment and was remanded in custody. At the time, police appealed for other victims to come forward after two men reported being sexually assaulted after leaving Heaven nightclub in Villiers Street. The alleged attacks took place in an illegal minicab. Caid is pleading not guilty. The case continues.
NEW MODERATOR FOR BRIGHTON PRIDE Chris Gull a former chairman of Brighton Cares and a prominent local businessman has been nominated to take on the independent moderator role to help develop the business and community forums to work with Pride in Brighton and Hove. The concept for the forums was put forward at last week’s public meeting and suggested as a constructive means of involving the local LGBT business and community sectors to help deliver a successful Pride in 2010. Chris Gull’s name has been suggested by a number of people across the community as the ideal candidate to take on this important role. His credentials not only include a successful business career, but also a long involvement in the voluntary and community sectors.
Miss Jason has been campaigning for this most worthy of causes, through charity fundraising shows and personally and here is a little bit about this charity, which strongly needs your help and support. Baan Jing Jai Orphanage in Soi Neung Pleub Wan (Thailand) is in desperate need of some of the most essentials for basic survival, which includes bedding, rice and a variety of other foods in order to continue the service that they provide for orphaned children. Other things that are desperately needed are basic school essentials such as pens, pencils paper and other drawing materials, which are all needed to ensure that these young children have a head start in life which so many have had cruelly snatched away. Thais4life is an organisation, which provides much needed funds through a variety of activities to raise money for orphanages. Their work that includes selling books in a charity bookshop. This basic medium for generating funds for Thais4Life, and providing considerable exposure, is the Thais4Life Bookshop, and your support for the bookshop would be gratefully appreciated. It has been called “The Best Bookshop in Pattaya”, and carries over 20,000 titles in 16 different languages. Donations of books are always gratefully accepted, and you can buy a book for only 80 baht - all books are priced at 80 baht - and you can also exchange any books that have been bought from the Thais4Life Bookshop for just 40 baht. This is a lifeline of support to the Bang Jing Jai Orphanage, these children are not given the chance to go onto a fulfilling future without their help and Miss Jason has campaigned widely to bring forth this cause to us. Albert Kennedy Trust launch major fund-raising drive with Dinner4Good A charity that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans homeless young people is asking supporters to help raise money by inviting friends to dinner.

The Albert Kennedy Trust – which helps vulnerable individuals who would otherwise be homeless or living in a hostile environment - has teamed up with Dinner4Good as part of a new fundraising initiative.

The website – dinner4good.com – makes it easy to raise money for the Trust and other good causes. The site handles people’s online invitations and donations, and includes a database of 170,000 UK charities to choose from. It removes the awkwardness of asking guests for money and the hassle of handling cash. The Dinner4Good website takes care of everything, including claiming the Gift Aid, so that charities typically receive 116% of the amount donated. Equality bill debate. Debates continue after four weeks of debate by a committee the most recent debate will allow the House of Commons to consider further amendments. It has been carried over from the last parliamentary session. The third reading usually takes place immediately after the report stage. Gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell accused the government of “cutting short the democratic process” by allowing only one day for the bill to be debated. He said that concerns about the bill could not be addressed. Ben Summerskill, chief executive of Stonewall, said: “It is incredibly rare that a bill is debated for more than one day at this stage. The civil partnerships bill was all done in a day.” Tatchell, along with groups such as Schools Out and Liberal Democrat equalities spokeswoman Lynne Featherstone, have criticised the bill for a number of “grey areas”.

one80Arts Estee Applaudher This week we pay tribute to Michael Joyce aka Estee Applaudher. It came as a total shock to us that after our recent story on Estee and her debut film the Cost Of Love, Estee was killed in a car accident whilst visiting his family for Christmas in Australia. Michael was based in Greenwich, at the Rose and Crown one of South East London’s popular gay spots. Michael hosted the weekly game shows and entertained guests on stage in the local SE London Bars. For the Management and staff of the Rose and Crown it is a deep loss not only of work colleague but also a house mate as Michael lived on the premises. Tributes have been coming into one 80news and also the Rose have a book of messages they are collecting to send over to the family. Carl Medlands producer of the movie Cost of Love has been in touch with Michael’s family as well as one80news and is planning a tribute screening of the film once it comes out, which is around March 2010. Carl also mentioned to us that the film was going to propel Michael into acting. He continues by saying I really owe him for making this film a success. His special message follows! Dear Michael , All the cast and crew dearly miss you we are dedicating “ The Cost of Love “ film as a tribute to your memory . You are and always will be a glittering star.

He moved to London from Australia 8 years ago he worked as a nursery teacher in a local school. He has also pursued his acting career playing small parts in the hit TV series Holby City and Family Affair. Although there was a serious side to his acting , he just loved entertaining. All in all Michael was just a fantastic guy, with a wonderful heart and soul. He will be deeply missed by all. The Rose and Crown have also mentioned that in the New year they will host a special tribute night for Michael.

Michaels was dedicated to life and had a great involvement in charities, he would always be there to volunteer to host any show, he played a huge part in the Greenwich Annual Drag Race,

GAY FACTOR! It’s here and Queer “yes” Gay Britain has incredible talent and it’s time for you to support the contestants and watch the shows live in venues across the country.
The young and not so young talented members of our LGBT community , with such amazing talent are about to hit the circuit, where the first of the shows were held at the Edge in Southampton, and in London at two8six Lewisham on the 19th at 7.30pm and the last on the 23rd in Bristol at the Queenshilling at 8pm The contestants need your support and take the competition seriously. We have had some fantastic stories come out form the artists all whom have a chance at winning £10,000 and the opportunity to excel themselves in the circuit. “Queer as Talent is the first competition that I have entered simply because I’ve never liked the competitive element of them. I’ve always thought that I’m either too old, or I don’t have the right look or my voice isn’t good enough but there was something about QAT that was different - quite simply it’s created and led in the LGBT community. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember and I love performing and entertaining for all types of audiences, so after talking to my some of my close friends, I made the decision to enter.
to Tony V to see if he had the tissues out, the place was silent and then out the tears flowed, he is a guy with an incredible heart, we have named Teary Tony, nothing like Simon. lol He spoke from his heart reminding us all what this competition is all about, and then called me over for a big hug, it wa a nice feeling. Seeing some of the other acts from other participating cities on You Tube has shown what truly talented people we have in the LGBT community ... basically we rock! I’m proud to be in this competition, I’m made up to have reached the semi finals and I hope that for those that thought about entering this year and didn’t for whatever reason, will definitely give it a go next year. This is a great experience and an opportunity not to be missed.
The one thing that has blown me away is the support that I have received since entering the competition.
This was probably one of the best decisions I have made, quite simply because it has given me more self belief, confidence and I have met some great people. I can remember the first audition, the judges were great and I sat down with Tony V and had a heart to heart with him, it was funny though he comes across as a little tough but every time someone sings a ballad out come the tissues, but there was a big smile as I did a big rock number. All the Bristol contestants have been so supportive of each other because we all understand what we are all going through. We all want to put on the best show we can and believe me we have. The one thing that has blown me away is the support that I have received since entering the competition. My girlfriend and Sister have been amazing and friends from the Pineapple Bar together with my straight friends have given me loads of encouragement and I thank them all so much. At the last heat, the Queen Shilling was full with friends and family from both the gay and straight community which gave a brilliant atmosphere! Having the opportunity to sing in front of experienced and talented judges in their own right has not only added to the nerves but has allowed me to receive positive and honest feedback. I sang Feeling Good, which I think surprised the judges after my initial audition, at the end of my performance, Claudia, Ms Jason and Jo Francis gave their comments I looked over

one80head2head Adam Marks Semi finalist Well where do I start, I feel like a retired race horse who has come back for one last run at the Grand national. (lol) I have entered a talent shows such as Star for a night BBC1 and Xfactor (boot camp 2009) but Queer as Talent has given me the boost I needed to pick my confidence back up and start to believe in myself again. I think the concept of the competition is fantastic and that coming from someone who has never been a active member of the Gay community mainly because since I been out which was when I was 22 I have been in relationship everyday and also due to work and relationships I never done the scene. The thought of performing in front of the gay community was frightened me thinking they like to see comedy Drag and young lads with pecs, but how wrong I was ! I have performed in a few venues in London and I mean only a few I have loved the shows and maybe its because I can be myself, as I class myself as straight acting normal guy who happens to be gay, but for someone who sang many songs by Bassey and female artists I know that Queer as talent can open a brand new window for me , it certainly has given me the bug to want to continue and if things go to plan fly the flag around UK for Queer as talent and give something back to the LGBT and bring awareness to others it’s not about sexual orientation or colour but about talent and there’s a lot out there ,especially in the LGBT community .
don’t think people realise how much talent there is in the community. I was so impressed with the talent in Lewisham for the last round, totally mixed from the young 22 year old performers to the nearly 40 like myself and I really thought my road to get my career and life back on track would end that night. I am so looking forward to the semi-finals, for me its a personal challenge as well as I want to prove to myself I can perform with the best of them and at 38 there is plenty more to come. I have always been very driven and professional at any level of entertaining. I would like to move into producing and helping young performers with advice and share my experience for them to achieve their dreams and work in the entertainment industry, I see Queer As Talent as a fantastic platform to do this. I really hope whatever happens this year it is a concept that will run for years and get bigger and bigger and I how proud I would be to be the first winner of Queer as Talent. I would even like to work with the team in future to get out there and make this first year one they will remember and get the exposure so future years will be The Biggest and Best competition in the LGBT community.

one80 Lets Eat by Tony V I thought that with Christmas upon us that perhaps, I share some of the recipes from my cook book with you. Each issue I will now pick a simple two course menu for you to dish up for your guests the holiday season. I will share the ingredients, method and presentation. I do hope you enjoy and if you would like any tips drop me a line.
Main Elizabeth Taylor atlantic salmon pan fried £4.00pp
Ingredients Also approximate cost of the dish, just to help you budget. One fillet of fish per person For new readers , just remember I have a twist and all my meals Lemon slices are named after a movie/TV star. Lemon juice White wine Tony V Peppers Tomato Onion Cracked black pepper Starter A nice salad plate per serve and if you can johnny depp starter afford it a couple of fresh oysters and king prawns on the plate. king prawns and avocado £4pp Ingredients 12xWhole cooked and unpeeled prawns per serve 1 Avocado Mixed greens salad Cooked penne Italian dressing (try Paul Newman’s) Cocktail Sauce (Buy it or make it) Th is simple to put together is an impressive entrée to serve to you sea shanty friends. Cocktail Sauce Tomato sauce, mayonnaise, dash of lemon (Bottled a couple of dollars or pounds) from any supermarket. Prepare and serve in 10 minutes. Cut the avocado in half, and don’t hold the thing in your hand you’re cut the bloody thing for sure, your hand that is. Place it on your breadboard and cut it at the full length not the surround, now to take that big seed out, carefully with your knife hit seed it will dig in and just pull out. Now with a spoon work around the edge of the skin and avocado and remove the flesh, it should come out in one piece, do this with both halves, now slice each half into strips and place back into the shell, fanned out. You did keep the shells. Now sit the avocado on a bed of lettuce and then sit three prawns unpeeled in each shell. Sit the remaining six prawns in a small bowl of pasta mixed with Italian dressing. Looks great, easy to serve, now don’t forget to give everyone a hot fi ngerbowl of water and lemon, to wash their hands and a side pate for the shell.
Method You can either pan fry if your cooking for one or two people or you can bake so I will give you both methods here. If the fish is whole like snapper you may want to stuff it so I will give you that method as well, snapper is best baked. Pan fry Lightly grease pan with olive oil, place your fillets in and fry each side quickly on a low heat for a minute to seal, then immediately squeeze lemon juice all over the fish and pour about half a glass of white wine in, this should be quite liquidly and in fact it is a little like poaching. In the same pan add a slice of lemon, tomato and ring of pepper per person in the pan, so they cook at the same time and crack some black pepper over the lot. Fish does not take long to cook, the Japanese eat it raw after all and should be turned once or twice during cooking, do not let the juice dry right up and once the flesh is cooked though then it is ready to serve. Have your salad plate made place the fish along side, use an egg lifter to lift not tongs as the fish will break up, place the lemon slice, tomato and pepper in a stack on the filet, place the oysters to the side of salad and place one king prawn on the fish and one on the salad and finally a lemon wedge on the side. Baking Now this method works with all the fish, you will need some lengths of foil one per fillet. Lay the foil on the table and grease with some butter or margarine, place your fish fillet in the center, add a lemon slice a slice of tomato and a pepper ring in a stack on top of the fillet now lift the sides of the foil to make a cup either side as you are now gong to pour the lemon juice and white wine over the fish, you don’t want it going everywhere; you then need to wrap the fish like a parcel. Using a baking dish greased with butter place the parcels in the baking dish and bake in the oven on temperature of about 180 for about 30 minutes, serves as above leaving in the foil. Snapper or any whole fish, best baked using the method above the only difference is to stuff the fish with the lemon, tomato and pepper and crack the pepper over the fish, wrap it and bake it the same, it may take 40 minutes to cook. MEET BRISTOL’S IDENTICAL TWINS WHICH ONE IS GAY ? James and Damian are identical in appearance but both have different sexual preferences. This is quite unusual in identical twins. It is much more likely that both share the same sexual orientation. About 52% of male identical twins are gay and in non identical twins the chances are less at 22%. These odds are much higher in twins, compared to the average non-twin. This has lead to a lot of studies involving twins and sexual orientation. Tony V catches up with the twins for double trouble.
T) What do your close friends think about you guys and do they think your competitive? J). Many people think that we both have different sexual orientation due to the fact that neither of us want to compete with one another. This is generally true in most aspects of our lives. From a very early age I followed an artistic path and Damian was always the mathematical one. In truth, we are both as talented as each other in art and maths.
T). Hi guys, so who is the oldest.
T) So what career paths have you taken ?
J.) Damian was born 5 minutes before me, and we were born the heaviest twins in Gloucestershire.
J). I followed a career in landscape architecture and I am also artist in my spare time and Damian is a financial controller for a large engineering firm, but also manages the accounts for several gay venues in Bristol.
T).It is hard to tell you guys apart! D). We were so alike that no one, except our mother, could tell us apart until we reached our twenties. This lead to a lot of confused teachers at school who eventually put us in separate classes so they could tell the difference between us
T) Do you have close encounters with each others minds ? D) People often ask if we have ever experienced anything unusual whilst apart. If one of us is hurt does the other feel it? We haven’t experienced that but when we were younger we could sense when the other twin was sad or happy. One of the many great aspects of being a twin is how close we are. We have exactly the same memories and shared experiences; it’s like having another me as back up.”
T. Damian your straight and James your Gay! D.) We go against both the nature and nurture theories as to why one twin is gay and the other is straight. We were both born from the same egg, meaning that our genetics (nature) should not be the reason James is gay. Our upbringing (nurture) should also be ruled out as we were both brought up in exactly the same way. T.) Are there any other members of the family gay? J) Our older sister and uncle are also gay, so being gay is common in our family. This made it a lot easier for me to come out to them all. I love having a twin brother and Damian has been the most accepting and supportive brother I could wish for. When I came out to him and the family at 19 years old, he not only accepted my lifestyle, he was happy to join me on the gay scene. So much so that he quite happily spends most of his nights out on the gay scene with our friends and his wife. T) Damien so your married right, where did you meet? D.) I met my wife in a gay bar and most of our wedding party was made up of our gay friends. I prefer the relaxed atmosphere and great music in gay venues. I am totally comfortable with gay men any advances my way I would send on to my brother. This has worked well in the past, as when women hit on James he would send them my way, we call it double pulling! ”
T) Can people tell which one of you is gay and which is straight? J) Ironically people say that Damian is the ‘camp’ one and I’m the butch one out of the two of us, which I find hilarious” D). It must have something to do with my great dress sense! T) I hear you guys have your own language you speak? J) Up until the age of 4 we developed our own ‘twin speak’ language, which had no similarity to any other language T) So what do you guys think about being on the cover of 3sixty magazine D & J ) That would be great

We asked Jean the question, So why Queer As Talent” I have always been writing songs and for years only ever played to friends and family. I was encouraged to try out as I wanted to see the wider reaction to my songs. Queer As Talent gives me that chance. I grew up with no role models so I think this gets us out the way.
Colin and Mike were in a choir together and decided to do something away from the choir and go out as a team. We worked really well together and decided to do something newwhich led to and entering the contest., We are different from the other contestants and acts so that’s a really good start for us. We are a great support for each other. We love the competition and what it stands for.
ERICA THORTON This competition means a lot to me. I love what I do and I love to be able to be a part of something that is a part of my community.
CHRIS BEHAN Chris has always been a very keen musician, but traditionally always been a instrumentalist, but then discovered his voice about two years ago. He then moved on to develop his vocals from there. His boyfriend is his greatest supporter and together they decided Chris should enter the contest. I am looking forward to performing at the church and showing Brighton my talent.
I am over the nervous part, my first auditions and then was delighted to get through to the semi finals. I will put 100% of me into the contest and just hope that I am chosen to go through to the finals in london. We are performing in a fantastic venue at St Andrews, I am looking forward to going back there and putting on the performance of my life.
JASON HOWLETT I have been out of the country for eleven years and living in Spain doing a sort of apprenticeship in entertainment and I wanted to come back to the UK . I moved back with my boyfriend of seven years. I read about Queer As Talent in one80 news and decided to enter. I have always wanted to be in entertaining and what better way to do it then in our community, and what a way to come in with 3 sixty as a launch pad.

JOE Proud Joe, gave the audience her all, at the 2nd round and finally has discovered a way of expressing his feelings. Joe is in his tansitional stage of life. I am feeling very happy at getting this far, and am really excited about getting into the semi finals, as its been something that I have always wanted to do. It is very hard getting up there on stage when you are unsure of yourself, but my motto in life is you cant help how you feel, no one can stop you from being who you are and what you want to be in life.
RUTHIE T We asked Ruthie,What her thoughts on Queer As Talent so far? I have never been in a competition or wanted to but there was something that I wanted to try and perform and see people smiling – My friends and family said “Ruth have a go at this.” And I think I was one of the first to apply. Friends and family and my girlfriend have all been a real support. I am very grateful and nervous as well – but it’s a lot of fun. The support is great and enjoying it immensely.
AMY EVANS CHRIS DYER Everone loves Chris and we asked Chris what made him enter the Queer As Talent.
LOUI Both Loui and his partner entered the contest , alas only Loui made it through to the semi finals, and his partner still has a choice to make it through on the peoples choice vote. We caught up with Loui and he said that so far, It has been really exciting, and I am really pleased getting into the semi-finals. The next stage is the anticipation. My partner Ben has been an amazing support to me and it has been wonderful so far.
I was told about the competition by friends, they then strongly encouraged me to go for it. All my friends and family had always wanted me to go on one, but until now I hadn’t had the chance. So I thought to myself why not. I have had a lot of support such as Mark my flat mate, family and friends have all been there for me all the way.
Who has inspired you to sing? Basically since I can remember I have been singing but this is my first competition and the most people I has ever sung in front of. I heard about it through a friend and turned up on the day and then realised what it was all about and am really loving it. I love the family spirit and the uptakes from the judges, it’s always good to hear the good vibes. 2nd heat was an absolute buzz and I am proud to be through to the semi-finals.

What’s inspired you and who have you to thank so far for supporting you? I was inspired to run for the competition because a friend of mine found the competition and convinced me to run in the competition. My family and friends have been my greatest supports, especially if I ever have doubts they are the first to encourage me to carry on. I am going to wow people even more next time with a very cool dress, hint, its scarlet.

Ian is our only dancer and choreographs his own routines, he is full of energy and we asked him what he is feeling about thing so far. I am so proud of myself for getting this far, and I am happy that Queer As Talent has given me the opportunity to prove myself regardless of my sexuality. I am incredibly proud of myself making it to the semi-finals.
They say a picture tells a thousand words, well this man has more then a thousand to say. Beleaguered Airlines , not sure of this trolley dolly. As Cabin for over ten years and writing since university and response to airline industry – I have been working on a few new funny sketches as Beleaguered airlines would not be able to afford a safety slide, and so many other along those lines Pam Ann is an obvious inspiration but the industry itself is full of comedy.

Jay was more then pleased he made the journey to London for the mini boot camp and was when asked what will he bring us to the semi-finals. His let us know he has come up with a Few ideas, which include choreography – expanding his act, and am toying with own song ideas. I want it to be fresh and new. Can’t wait Jay!
TIA ANNA SORE ASS WRECKED You may remember this face from Britains got talent, well Tia was in and out pretty quickly, nasty Simon, however she has made us laugh with every performance. Her reaction to QAT I have had knock backs in the past but Queer As Talent has given me the chance to show my performance to a wider audience, and I feel great about it. I hope that I get exposure out there through Queer As Talent.

Headed up by lead singer Nick, these guys are a cover band. The judges have put them to the test about coming up with their own music and lyrics, but there is no pressure. They believe that they are bringing a new and amazing act to the circuit, and are pleased to be a part of the competition. One of the judges, advised just keep doing what you are and do it well, so we will see what they bring to the show. They have a great chemistry between them and will have you dancing in your seats.

P.J has an awesome smile and it shines through his voice. Here is his reaction to the night. I had an amazing night and when I was put through to the semis, I was so shocked, it has been my dream to produce music and I must say that I have used the ace’s in my pack, but I now need to strive to be even better than I have to be able to continue onwards in Queer As Talent.
Lee works in a London bar by day and sometimes night, but his joy is music. He has always surprised the judges at each session and now he is following his dream to be a singer performer. QAT caught up with him after he got the news of getting through t the semis. This is very much what I have always wanted to do, Getting this far has been amazing and the journey that I have taken is incredibly awesome.

Paul decided to come out of his music closet after a few years of retirement. He shared with QAT that he had stopped for personal reasons but for him to get back into it has been an amazing experience. Paul said, he was so excited about asking it through to the semis and can’t wait for his next performance.

Headed up by husband and wife team Carlos and Olga Dinapoli, the couple moved back to Brighton after living in Spain for 18 years and with a passion for their culture and of course food they decided to return to the UK and share their joy of the tapas. The historry of the Tapa was set back when King Alfonso X known as the wise one set out in the Castillian Bars there was no wine to be served unless it was accompanied by some type of food. This was to avoid the wine going straight to your head. To begin with the tapa would be placed on top of the glass which would cover it (Tapa means to cover) Bar Aguadulce will offer a selection of Tapas in the bar area when your order a lager or a glass of wine or a spritzer this is offered at the discretion of the staff however small tapas dishes can also be purchased with other beverages at £1.80 per tapa and of course they are offered at a per drink basis. Moving into the restaurant though Chef Olga offers a superb selection of Spanish cuisine as Raciones (Larger tapas) or you can try our seafood or meat dishes. The seafood is delivered in fresh and can be seen on display cool bayes which is nice to see. Olga is very particular with her daily selections.

You will find the menu to be quite reasonable in price and large in selection, when we met up with Olga and Calos, our friends from Michael Rose were sitting there to an abundance of food, I managed to have a small taster there of the Patatas Ali Oli, potato served deep fried and served in garlic Mayo, and also a bite of Pulp Aguadulce, flambeyed octopus with onions, capers, tomato and oregano. Just tasting the delight has convinced me that these guys are on a winner. Prices for Raciones start from as little as £3.90 and Carnes dishes (MEATS) average at £13.90 and Paella Y Arroces at £13.95 per person.
