Last summer we received over 600 youth responses to our survey distributed in Southwest Denver We surveyed youth ages 14-24 years old and asked them a range of questions about gun safety, community, and parent involvement These survey results will aid us in identifying what youth want

One risk factor that we received from our survey is the amount of access to firearms and contact with guns within the Southwest Denver youth As youth, we know that there need to be activities for youth to get involved in that will positively impact their life.

In addition, in a survey done by the Office of Children's Affairs, Denver African American youth made-up 29% of victims of gun-related crimes and made up 12% of the population.

Hispanic youth made up 45% of victims of gunrelated crimes and made up 45% of the population.
