Daniela Michelle Ruiz Rosado
As an architecture student deeply interested in sustainable design, materials, and expressive drawings, my main goal is to contribute to projects that prioritize eco-friendly practices and showcase the thoughtful use of materials. I aim to create buildings that not only function well but also blend seamlessly with their surroundings. Through detailed drawings, I want to tell the story of each design, emphasizing its functionality and commitment to sustainability. My focus is on bringing innovation and environmentally friendly solutions to the forefront of architectural practice.

Situated on the corner of Avenida Las Americas, this project focuses on creating a spacious public area on the ground level, distinguished by abundant greenery and welcoming spaces that not only receive visitors but also entice them to immerse themselves in the project. An interior garden, easily traversable, facilitates direct interaction with nature, forming an open atrium that promotes ventilation across subsequent levels. As a multipurpose building, it encompasses two commercial levels, a floor designated for offices and graphic design classrooms, two underground parking levels, ten floors featuring double and single apartments, and a designated space for art exhibitions.

One main volume with the circulation in the middle.
Split the volumme in two and join them with the circulation.
Angled gestures were created on the corners of the second volume.

The project aims to implement a regenerative design to revitalize a weakened area. The selected site suffers from structural composition, stability, fertility, and nutrients, due to a prior structural collapse, which led to the abandonment of the site, now serving as a dumping ground. To facilitate its regeneration, fertilization is needed to enhance its capacity to absorb air and water, thereby laying the foundation for its rejuvenation and eventual restoration of ecological balance. stump house.

Located in Isabela, adjacent to the PR-2 highway, the project proposes a modular building factory for crafting small 200ft² wooden houses and producing adobe blocks using on-site materials and wood scraps. These blocks, integral to the modules, initiate a regeneration process. To address industrial pollution, the construction incorporates adobe blocks made from wood-generated sawdust and on-site clay. A solar panel system is integrated to provide clean energy, managed through a controller, inverter, and battery bank, with a hybrid solar system as backup. Incentives for clean energy production are facilitated through a Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) program.

My project will be an Environmental Research Center for educational purposes of a public and sectoral nature. It will have the objective of training the community to know their natural resources and make decisions based on scientific evidence. Furthermore, it will allow postgraduate students of environmental sciences, landscapers, farmers, or any other profession related to the environment, to connect with nature and expand their knowledge.
Locating the project north of the Guánica Nature Reserve, next to the Rio Loco, provides a better reach to nature. It also establishes a direct connection with bodies of water, flora, and the fauna of the town.
