Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora For the benefit of the business

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora is a non-governmental, non-profit public organization, a volunteer association of the regional businesses. Since its establishing in 1991 its main purpose it to represent and to defend the employers interests and to provide its members and client with specialized business services. The Chamber has a bi-level system of governance - a Managing Board, whose chairman is Oleg Stoilov, and a Supervisory Board.

Over the years the Chamber is constantly working in close cooperation with local and regional authorities, scientific institutions, and other business support organizations for enhancing the business climate in Stara Zagora region and promoting investment, for increasing the competitiveness of companies, for international cooperation, and for promoting the export of local products.

During the General Assembly of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora which took place in June 2016, the CCI’s member decided on priorities of its work in 2016-2017 that are in the following areas: • Business cooperation - export promotion • Consulting in all fields related to economic activities with emphasis on access to finance • Youth entrepreneurship - promotion of entrepreneurship among young people and startups • Enhancing the labour market - activities related to introduction of the dual education • Promotion of Stara Zagora economy and the region as an investment and touristic destination

Economic cooperation with various countries

Enterprise Europe Network established to support SMEs in which the Chamber participates since 1999 is the main instrument in business cooperation assistance.

In 2016, the Chamber organized nine B2B events in various business sectors two of which took place in Bulgaria (Sofia and Plovdiv) and six - in England, Greece, Russia, Spain, and Turkey participated by altogether over 60 companies from the region of Stara Zagora. Three of the missions abroad were to Russia - Samara, Rostov on Don, and Tver. In beginning of February 2016, several companies organized by Enterprise Europe Network Stara Zagora participated in bilateral meetings during the exhibition for ceramics and furnishing, construction and architecture in the framework of the fifth edition of Ceramiva Innova in Valencia, Spain. In middle March 2016, a large group of manufacturers and traders in Jewelry participated in the Istanbul Jewelry Show which took place in middle March 2016 in Istanbul, Turkey leaded by the Chamber.

In June 2016, companies dealing in innovative medical products participated in B2B meetings with foreign health care companies from 24 countries in Liverpool, Great Britain which resulted in established contacts with great 112
