universe has been woven beneath our feet. Reality has appeared. New and ancestral. Never seen, and yet present since always. Our blindness is a memory. The picture crystalizes. Clearly. Strange. Opposites attract. Similarities fend each other off. Around the new poles, everything vibrates, moves, is organized. We thought that we understood the world, we see it for the first time. And its possibilities are infinite.

he post-war period was the time of ideologies. And of disappointment. The end of the last century gave rise to a generation of nihilists. Removed from power by their elders. Almighty baby boomers. who bequeath their legacy to their grandchildren.

The millenniums take over. On a blank page left by their parents. Educated far from hope and beliefs, they are builders. Without influence.

Source of an original word. Their creations shake up the standards. Transcend them. Open possibilities that have never been considered.

The apocalyptic atmosphere is their cradle.

Tremendous catalyst. Liberating fatalism. There is no inhibition as for the heralded end and vitality is contagious.

L

’après-guerre fut la période des idéologies.

Et de leurs déceptions. La fin du siècle dernier a donné naissance à une génération de nihilistes. Écartée du pouvoir par leurs aînés.

Baby boomers tout puissants. Qui lèguent leur héritage à leurs petits-enfants. Les milleniums prennent les commandes. Sur une page laissée vierge par leurs parents. Éduqués loin de l’espoir et des croyances, ils sont les bâtisseurs.

Sans influence. Source d’une parole originelle.

Leurs créations bousculent les normes. Les transcendent. Ouvrent des possibilités jamais envisagées. L’atmosphère apocalyptique est leur berceau. Formidable catalyseur. Fatalisme libérateur. Il n’y a pas d’inhibition devant la fin annoncée et la vitalité est contagieuse.

To draw a new world, one must start by tracing its outline. Simple but open lines.

No locking-up its future. Letting the song of possibilities ring. The universes’ borders overflow, take possession of their time. The framework has burst and the crazy painter no longer knows any limits to his brush. Life takes on unexpected forms. Kept silent by an overly controlling humanity it hence enjoys cathartic creativity.

Pour dessiner un nouveau monde, il faut commencer par en tracer les contours. Des lignes simples mais ouvertes. Ne pas enfermer son avenir. Laisser s’exprimer le chant des possibles. Les univers débordent de leurs frontières, prennent possession de leur époque.

Le cadre a éclaté et le peintre fou n’a plus de limite à son pinceau. La vie prend des formes inattendues. Gardée muette par une humanité trop dirigiste, elle jouit désormais d’une créativité cathartique.

Art can reinvent itself. But without trying too hard. Simply by letting it express itself. Fantasy of the New wave. And if it were enough to simply allow the unconscious of the work to express itself? To keep the scan of its iris? Like a peel. An essence which would escape the intellect. That’s what Kevin L Ferguson does. To collect the images of a film every ten seconds.

To only keep their main colors. And to assemble them to form a picture. A table which conveys more than the general color, taking shape like a visual signature. An identity. The one we fail to grasp while being imprinted at the back of the cortex. Once again, reality was there, under our gaze, invisible. kevin L. ferguson.

L’art peut se réinventer. Mais sans le forcer.

Simplement le laisser s’exprimer. Fantasme de la Nouvelle vague. Et s’il suffisait de laisser l’inconscient de l’œuvre s’exprimer ? D’en garder l’emprunte rétinienne ? Comme un zest.

Un essentiel qui échapperait à l’intellect. C’est ce que fait Kevin L. Ferguson. Capter les images d’un film toutes les dix secondes. N’en garder que les couleurs principales. Et les assembler pour former un tableau. Un tableau qui donne plus que la teinte générale, qui se dessine comme une signature visuelle. Une identité.

Celle qui nous échappe mais qui s’imprime pourtant au fond du cortex. Une fois encore, la réalité était là, sous nos yeux, invisible.

To rebuild without influencing, the rising generation turns to the basics. A circle. A square. Simplistic alphabet whose combinations give rise to a newspeak with surprising complexity. The original bricks modulate ad infinitum.

Like in a sketch by Matisse, a few lines are enough to transcend imagination. When in doubt, simplicity is the greatest certainty.

Pour reconstruire sans influencer, la nouvelle génération fait appel aux fondamentaux. Un cercle. Un carré.

Alphabet simpliste dont les combinaisons donnent naissance à une novlangue à la surprenante complexité.

Les briques originelles se modulent à l’infini. Comme dans une esquisse de Matisse, quelques lignes suffisent à transcender l’imagination. Dans le doute, la simplicité est la plus grande certitude.

Let’s shake up the values. Plastic is going from its position as a large malicious pollutant to that of a game. Cork is painted like marble, losing its malleability to an illusion of hardness. Both, restricted for years to their mere practical value, become playful. They, those that one throws and destroys, become a building set. Of creation.

It is necessary to recycle, no longer waste, make better use, one shouts everywhere. Meh, answer Josi and Stella Lee Prowse, and what if we just played?

Le liège est peint en marbre, perd sa malléabilité pour une illusion de dureté. Tout deux, restreints depuis des années à leur seule valeur pratique, deviennent ludiques. Reality is created by multitude. Just like the discovery of invisible bonds defining our humanity, the fabric is woven. Light and complex. Flexible and rich. A wave coating tomorrow without constraint, adapting itself to its smallest asperities. Made up of each individual, the fabric is much more than everyone. The universe has the softness of a transitional object by Winicott. Which envelops without choking. Dresses without disguising.

La réalité se crée dans la multitude. À l’image de la découverte des liens invisibles qui définissent notre humanité, la matière se tisse. Légère et complexe.

Modulable et riche. Une vague qui nappe demain sans contrainte, s’adaptant à ses moindres aspérités.

The fabric must change. Again and again. And weave itself. More and more. Until it forgets itself completely. In smooth perfection. Satin-smooth.

At least, that was the idea of perfection. Today, fabric is coarse. Imperfect. But so comfortable.

By the way, all in all, it is not even fabric. But urethane. A polymer of purely practical use, like a binder for coatings, but which becomes a cocoon and aesthetic. A unique second reading of the carpet. Even its name. Showdown title of a song by Thin Lizzy the team listened to during manufacture. Just like Lucy, the first woman of humanity, named according to the song by the Beatles. First woman. First carpet.

Le textile doit se transformer. Encore et encore.

Et se tisser. Toujours plus. Jusqu’à totalement s’oublier. Dans une perfection lisse. Satinée. Du moins, ce fut l’idée de la perfection. Aujourd’hui, le textile est grossier. Imparfait. Mais tellement confortable. D’ailleurs, pour tout dire, ce n’est même pas du textile. Mais de l’urethane. Un polymère à usage seulement pratique, comme liant de revêtements, mais qui devient cocon et esthétique. Une relecture unique du tapis.

Même son nom. Showdown du titre d’une chanson de Thin Lizzy qu’écoutait l’équipe en pleine confection. Tout comme Lucy, la première femme de l’humanité, nommée selon la chanson guillermo mora. des Beatles. Première femme. Premier tapis.

All together or alone. Such could be the creed of our time. If we do not weave our multitude, we will rely on the solidity of the unwavering unit. The rock, with slow and inescapable metamorphosis, is the anchor of tomorrow. The matric bond. Root of humanity, it cannot be isolated, even from a new world. Foundation, finding its freedom, the mineral can marry the shifting lines of our future’s profile.

Tous ensemble ou seul. Tel pourrait être le credo de notre époque. Si nous ne tissons pas notre multitude, nous nous appuierons sur la solidité de l’unité inébranlable. The simplest forms of life are also the most eternal. The amoeba is an essential brick of life’s architecture. Back to the foundations. But rethought. Forgetting our history is out of the question, the future will be written by taking on all eras. Stained glass, symbol of the theologicaly inspired genius of human craftsmanship.

Thomas Medicus adds Leds to it, bringing light into the darkness. The sources of life are thus combined with art, technology and spirituality.

As if millions of years of evolution were put on hold. A point of compression of our history, like a hydrogen particle ready to explode. In one second, humanity will create its own Big-bang.

In Biarritz, in the city where the sky and the sea still dispute their border, the City of the ocean and surfing fits into its environment. The waves have submerged the shore and met the solidifying glance of a modern jellyfish. Nature has become architecture. The world is built with its eternal elements. One no longer creates, one transposes. The thinkers enter degrowth, because after all, it has never been proven to us that perfection was not yet invented.

Le sens a largement débordé sur la forme. À Biarritz, dans la ville où le ciel et la mer se disputent encore leur frontière, la Cité de l’océan et du surf a épousé son environnement. Les vagues ont submergé le rivage et ont rencontré le regard figeant d’une Méduse moderne. La nature est devenue architecture. Le monde se construit avec ses éléments éternels. Because pink caresses and lies. Reassures and distresses. Because pink has no identity besides that which one confers to it. The mirror color. Pink is the color of cuddly toys and the windows of brothels. Pink is out of this world.

And the human in all this? He remains discrete. A spectator. A passenger of a world that knows where it’s headed. He believed that the Earth was a vehicle. It is the pilot. He thought he was a parent. He is a child. If he ceases to exist in order to merge with this more powerful energy, more beautiful than he is. To follow the paths of this pattern which he was unaware of for too long. As if he could do better. Yesterday left, ashamed. From now on, we are traveling across the globe, merging with the elements. Embracing destiny. Released from this body, too tempted to act.

For the first time in its history, humanity has tired of itself. Not very proud of what it is. So some turn to animals and others towards technology.

Return to the sources or become the posthuman, but do not remain this imperfect man.

And then, there are those who try to conciliate both. This is the case of Marshmallow Laser Feast. An insulating helmet, a virtual reality screen, an adapted sound system and even a haptic kit. In an instant, in the forest in the north of England, you become a bat, a squirrel, a bird. See the sounds. Feel the trees. Hear the smells. The dream of good Doctor Albert Hoffman indeed.

The body is a canvas. Nothing new. Or yes, perhaps. Millenniums painting oneself to exist.

Today, the body is getting it’s make up done in order to disappear. He, Bolin giving life to the maxim of Albert Camus in his Rebel: “To be nothing, this is the cry of the spirit weary of its own rebellion”. But today, Kouhei Nakama goes further. To be nothing is not enough. To be something else, that is the cry of our time.

When the body merges with its environment.

Since the blank canvas hiding under the Mona Lisa is the most admired in the world. To become the work of art which one collects since it is unable to improve. To mutate. But to mutate into a work of art. Prehistoric men combed. The evolved human is a painting.

The laws only ever existed in our spirits.

A phantasy of safety. But the apocalypse has screamed too loudly for us to remain oblivious to danger. Today, we see. What seemed to be the fruit of our imagination is turning out to be reality’s child. Distortion.

Sublimation. Bewitchment of the elements.

What is solid slips through our fingers and what is fluid scratches our hands. Heat freezes and the cold burns. Only time gave meaning to our perceptions. But time died.

It abdicated, faced with an overly heavy past and an overly bleak future. Here we are, stuck in an endless spiral. A swirl where everything collides and fits together. An intoxicating loss of landmarks. All the better. Our landmarks were leading us into the abyss.

Les lois n’ont jamais existé que dans nos esprits. Un fantasme de sécurité. Mais l’apocalypse a crié trop fort pour ignorer encore le danger. Aujourd’hui, nous voyons.

Ce qui semblait le fruit de notre imagination se révèle l’enfant du réel. Distorsion.

Sublimation. Envoûtement des éléments.

Le solide glisse entre les doigts et le fluide égratigne nos mains. La chaleur glace et le froid brûle. Seul le temps donnait un sens à nos perceptions. Mais le temps est mort.

Il a abdiqué, devant un passé trop lourd et un avenir trop noir. Nous voilà pris dans une vrille sans fin. Un tourbillon où tout s’entrechoque et s’épouse. Une enivrante perte de repère. Tant mieux. Nos repères nous menaient dans l’abîme.

If meiosis and mitoses thought, they were Dali? Always the same old story: in the face of danger, life proliferates, transforms, multiplies. And that’s where the danger is.

Then, the great alchemist tries, experiments, tests. No more rules. No more laws.

Nobody knows what tomorrow will look like, so we have to prepare. For anything.

Even for the improbable. Especially, for the improbable. It is the most certain of futures.

And life, untiring mirror of its time, copies this madness. Because life doesn’t die. It adapts. Even in the middle of the storm, a graceful flight is possible.

Et si l’évolution n’en faisait qu’à sa tête ? Si les méioses et les mitoses se prenaient pour Dali ? Toujours la même vieille histoire : face au danger, la vie prolifère, se métamorphose, se multiplie. Et le danger est là. Alors, le grand alchimiste tente, expérimente, essaie.

Plus de règle. Plus de loi. Personne ne sait à quoi ressemblera demain, alors il faut se préparer. À tout. Même à l’improbable.

Surtout, à l’improbable. Il est le plus certain des avenirs. Et la vie, miroir infatigable de son temps, calque cette folie. Parce que la vie ne meurt pas. Elle s’adapte. Même au cœur de la tempête, il est possible de voler avec grâce.

Embarrassed by our exceeded cultures, we recycle. Recover, pile up, crush and compact.

A totem was born. Monstrous child of a heavy past. Sometimes failed, sometimes splendid, it is a madness of the genetic mix of our forgotten hopes. The conclusions of yesterday’s stories become the incipit of the accounts of tomorrow. Worn out through sterile worship, the beliefs gather so as not to survive. To gain new inspiration. And perhaps, a new cosmogony. Once upon a time, there will be…
