3 Books of 51 chapters ● Proverbs has 31 chapters. ○ A Proverb is a short statement of truth or general advice. ○ Written by Solomon son of David, through divine inspiration from ​God. ● Ecclesiastes has 12 chapters. ○ Ecclesiastes in hebrew means Preacher a collector of sentences. ○ This book does not list it’s writer but in verse 12:11 it states these words collected come from ​One Shepherd. ● Song of Songs/Solomon has 8 chapters. ○ Song of Solomon is written during Solomon’s time and he may have overseen this writing. ○ This book is also written through divine inspiration from ​God​.

Questions children should know the answers to: 1. When should I read these books? a. You should read them now. i. Proverbs is directed for young people to understand life choices. ii. Ecclesiastes is directed as you enter the world on your own as a teen or twenty something and trying to understand why the way the world works as it does. iii. Song of Solomon is directed when you are entering a relationship and are about to become married.

2. If Solomon wrote these books or had a hand in its writing why should we listen to Solomon? a. God gave Solomon the greatest of wisdom because Solomon asked for a way to judge his people when God asked him in a dream. God gave him wisdom beyond any other that had lived.
