When we look at objects or buildings which seem to be at peace within themselves, our perception becomes calm and dulled. The objects we perceive have no message for us, they are simply there. Our perceptive faculties grow quiet, unprejudiced and unacquisitive.
---Peter Zumthor
High-rise apartments with poor peripheral vision Dongguan has developed rapidly on the basis of manufacturing in the past 40 years, from a small town to a metropolis with more than 8.2 million people, and more than 6 million migrant workers. In other to cope with the growing population, a large number of high-density high-rise residential buildings have been built since the late 1990s.

Dongguan apartment typology are driven by two things:
1. local building codes
2. the need to maximise profit per square meter
As a result, these buildings can be understood as sheer pragmatic, high-performance architecture.

Shifting and removing walls
By shifting the wall of the corridor one meter, a private entrance is formed and the children's room and senior room can obtain a comfortable living area.
Remove the balcony and the walls of the room facing the balcony to form a new open dining and living area.
Since then, the corridor disappeared and the bedroom was directly connected to the dining and living area. This layout allows diverse activities to take place simultaneously.

MEMORIAL OF
In these incredibly contradictory days, a new Russia is being born.
---Maxim Gorky
From leader worship to personal memorial
Generations of Soviet leaders have used grand movements or building monuments to demonstrate the advancement of communist society. However, the centralization of power has led to distortions in the system. Many people suffered or even died because of this, "The death penalty is a random sentence," the historian Richard
Pipes wrote. "People were shot for no reason, and they were released for no reason." Leaders still appear in history in different roles, but ordinary people suffered silently are gradually forgotten. Forgetting will bring new suffering. Except for famous people, every life is worth commemorating.

Since 1924, the public has been visiting Lenin's Tomb along a single route under the supervision of guards to pay homage to the remains of the leader. After exiting the side door, keep following the instructions of guards, pass Kremlin Wall Cemetery, and visit the tombstones of other leaders and communist friends.
If, the objects of commemoration change from leaders to ordinary people, single route becomes free choice. How will you feel?

There is nothing new under the sun
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
There is nothing new under the sun.
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NIV)
Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy, but that's the only thing I'd really like to be.”

The battle between bear and tiger: Khabarovsk VS Vladivostok
With urbanization, many residents of the Russian Far East have moved to Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. At the same time, a large number of young people are seeking better job opportunities in Europe or China, Japan and Korea. The Far East is facing a large loss of talents.
In recent years, due to its geographical location and policy advantages, Vladivostok has developed rapidly in economy, culture. In December 2018, the move of the administrative center of the Russian Far East from Khabarovsk to Vladivostok
marked the beginning of the weakening of Khabarovsk's political status in the Far East.
In response to these challenges, a new conference hotel serving the universities was proposed. In addition to providing services to the universities and surrounding communities; this building needs to have an iconic design to produce the "Bilbao effect" of the Russian Far East, to integrate the education and tourism resources of Khabarovsk and stimulate the local economy.

After the hotel is tilted on the site plan, the main entrance points to the Orthodox Church, and the secondary entrance points to the university. Thus, the three landmarks form a triangular axis relationship. The tilt of the hotel's facade gives the building a sense of movement. Echoes the multiple intentions of the prayer, the catcher and the Chinese character " 人 " person.

Living cities, therefore, ones in which people can interact with one another, are always stimulating because they are rich in experiences, in contrast to lifeless cities, which can scarcely avoid being poor in experiences and thus dull.

a's background and problems
Edificio España is the product of the Franco regime to promote national power, located in the center of Madrid. It is 117 meters height with 28 floors. When completed in 1953, it was the tallest building in Spain. However, the height and width of the building several times that of the surrounding residential buildings affect the lighting, ventilation, and view of the Plaza de España. The building became vacant in 2005 due to poor internal quality, lack of public space and operational reasons.

2.Adjust and strengthen the structure to ensure safety.
3.Through functional adjustment, reduce the intersection of hotel, apartment and office routes to ensure the privacy of each part.

Life between buildings is both more relevant and more interesting to look at in the long run than are any combination of colored concrete and staggered building forms.
