EXPLORE

FAREWELL YOUR FAVOURITES

The time has come to say “see you later” to some of your favourite exhibits at Canterbury Museum. The Museum is about to embark on a major and much-needed redevelopment which will see it move out of its buildings for up to five years. From mid-October, Museum staff will be progressively closing galleries to pack them down. Many favourite exhibits, like the Christchurch Street and Fred and Myrtle’s Pāua Shell House, will return in the redeveloped Museum, and a temporary Museum will pop up in the central city next year – but it could be some time before you see your favourites again so make sure you stop by soon to wish them well on their travels!
