ost homes have a room that is a magnet for junk, whether it’s sports equipment, books, bags or paperwork,’ says Georgia. ‘For us, it was the conservatory, which was a shame because, potentially, it was the loveliest space in the house. My mum Karen designed the room herself and saved about £15,000 by employing a local carpenter and builder. It’s actually more like an orangery as it’s brick-built with windows and a skylight. After the initial flurry of activity, however, the space slowly got swallowed up. It kept niggling away at me, so last Mother’s Day I decided to mastermind a mini makeover. We had some furniture already, so it was just a case of reorganising everything.

The inspiration behind the scheme was a golden yellow rose tablecloth from Ragged Rose. My mum loved it and we decided on a yellow and duck-egg blue palette. The company has so many coordinating throws and cushions that the look came together really quickly – they create a warm feel. Our biggest investment was the floor. My parents chose limestone as it’s neutral, hardwearing and easy to clean, which is essential when you have two dogs. Once
