Message from our Executive Director
Dear Friend,
As we reflect on the past year, I am proud to share the progress and resilience demonstrated by ABIPA in an evolving and challenging economic landscape. Despite national and state uncertainties, we remained focused on our strategic goals, providing holistic Community Health Worker Services, supporting community members on their health journey through preventative health programming and services and chroinic disease self mananagement support, and making sure our neighbors continue to receive support with food and supplies during the long term recovery stage we are now navigating.
Throughout the year, we prioritized disaster response, creating a safe and restorative space for people to gather, and making sure community members received the food and supplies they need to help make it through. We launched new initiatives that have not only expanded regional reach but also strengthened our core services. Our teams worked tirelessly to adapt to shifting demands and to ensure that our services remained relevant, responsive, and value-driven.
This year we achieved steady growth in revenue as a result of delivering HOP services to over 900 families in Buncombe Henderson, and Rutherfor Counties. We hit an unsettling cliff with the sudden loss of HOP funding this summer. However, we continue to serve over 1,000 individuals monthly with our FREE Sunday shops and Community Engagement Markets. We manage costs effectively, and maintain a strong support for the community. These efforts reflect our commitment to long-term sustainability and community impact of over 7,000 individuals
Looking ahead, we are optimistic and confident in our roadmap. Our focus for the coming year will be on continuing completing the purchase of our new home at 220 Continuum Drive. We plan to expand our Free Sunday Shop to a full service weekend pantry to support working families that can not acess services during normaal operating hours. Aditionally we plan to expand the utilization of our new space as a full service Event Center, launch our business incubator, and continuing to provide our holistic health services.
On behalf of the leadership team, I extend my sincere gratitude to our ABIPA Team members and volunteers, partners, and investors for their unwavering support and trust. Together, we look forward to another year of progress and shared success.
As you know ABIPA is in the process of purchasing our new building to operateoutofinservicetothecommunity.Wehavelaunchedourcapital campaign and are in need of your support to raise our goal of $1 million dollars this year with the goal of ultimately raising $10 million dollars in the next 5 years to pay off ABIPA Life's Center. As you know the political andeconomicenvironmenthas putadditionalstrainon oureffortsand the community as a whole which make our work even more important.
