Adams County Pet Rescue A nonprofit organization run by a group of volunteers who rescue, rehabilitate and re-home any unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned pets. Foster homes are always needed, and foster families take in a homeless animal once it has been accepted into the rescue program. Membership is open to all graduates holding an associate’s or equivalent, bachelor’s or higher degree. Ritzville AAUW awards scholarships to local girls who are entering their third year of college studying in the fields of math, science and/or technology.

Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary No. 2739 In service for 62 years, it is a children oriented group and sponsors many activities for the community, such as an annual Easter egg hunt. Philanthropic Educational Organization Founded in Iowa in 1869 by seven college girls and now is a national and international organization. PEO has been in Ritzville since 1921 and holds meetings on the first and third Thursdays of each month. They have assisted many women finish or update their education and fund other programs to help international students study in the United States. Ralston Grange No. 943 Founded in 1930 and has continued to serve the area, promoting community service and providing activities and events for the area’s residents. Meets at the hall in Ralston (located 10 miles south of Ritzville on Highway 261) every month except July and August on the third Tuesday. Each year, it sponsors an Easter egg hunt, bingo concession at the Wheat Land Communities’ Fair, a community Thanksgiving and Christmas meal and party, and other activities for all ages throughout the year. Ritzville Festivals Association A non-profit, all volunteer organization that sponsors Distinguished Young Woman of Ritzville in March, Labor Day Parade, Penny Auction in November and Christmas tree sales in December. Designed and built by members and parents of the current royalty, the community float attends multiple parades each year starting in May with the Lilac Parade and ending in September with the Harrington parade. Ritzville FFA Supporters FFA Supporters assist the FFA in anyway possible. They raise money for the FFA by participating in Donkey basketball and blowing out sprinklers in the fall. Ritzville High School Alumni Association The mission of the Ritzville Alumni Association and Lind-Ritzville Alumni Association is to honor all graduates, provide a venue for all alumni to gather, share memories and reconnect, and to preserve and protect the history, tradition and memorabilia of Ritzville High School and Lind-Ritzville High School. The Association maintains a scholarship program for graduating seniors and recently raised funds to purchase a drop down flag for Gilson Gym to honor our local Veterans. Ritzville Library Foundation The Ritzville Library Foundation was formed August 9, 1988 as a Washington nonprofit. RMA provides Bible study/worship programs for the Adams County Jail, East Adams Care Center and Rose Garden Estates. Clergy are on-call as chaplains for the hospital.

Ritzville Museum Volunteers A 501 (c)(3), all volunteer organization that is the caretaker for Ritzville’s two museums, the Frank R. Burroughs Home and the Railroad Depot Museum. The Frank R. Burroughs Home, located at 408 West Main Avenue, is open Monday-Saturday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., from Memorial Day through Labor Day, or anytime by appointment. The Railroad Depot Museum, at Washington Street and Railroad Avenue, is open the same hours and houses a collection of turn of the century memorabilia. Ritzville Public Development Authority Works to bring in new businesses to Ritzville and make the community more viable for new businesses. Ritzville Rifle and Gun Club Open every Sunday at 10 a.m. from the first of January to the end of March. For more than 50 years, it has helped people to learn about firearm safety. Ritzville Rodeo Association Members strive to produce a quality rodeo annually during Labor Day weekend, featuring ProWest action as a member of the ProWest Rodeo Association. During the four-day event, it sponsors free pony rides and stick horse barrel racing. It holds an annual horsemanship clinic in June, and has sponsored junior rodeos and held team roping events. Ritzville Volunteer Ambulance Association The RVAA’s mission is to maintain a viable corps of EMTs and drivers so as to be able to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner. The Wagon Train Descendant’s Association A nonprofit organization, its members are predominately descendants and friends of the wagon train of Volga German passengers who settled Ritzville in 1882. Members also include other German families’ ancestors who lived in the area. They established The Heritage Research Center that includes family histories, pictures and memorabilia commemorating early Ritzville pioneers and is maintained by the Ritzville Museum Volunteers since merging with the Ritzville Museum Volunteers.
