Did you come for the service, to feel the spirit, did you come to be seen or to catch someone’s attention? I know it may seem taboo to ask someone why did they come to church, so I will encourage you to ask yourself. Why did you come to church? It’s not a gender question, it’s not a question for the old or the young. It is a real question to all. Let us establish your why. The purpose is to make sure you are in the right spirit.

There are numerous reasons why individuals attend church, aside from being encouraged by family members. Personally, I attend Sunday service because of my strong connection with God and the spiritual guidance I receive during the service.

Additionally, my grandmother, who attended church faithfully every Sunday despite being paralyzed on her left side, inspired me with her unwavering faith and love for God. Through my grandmother and mother, I was introduced to Jesus and developed a deep love for Him. Embracing a relationship with God through His son Jesus is truly unique. Personally, I believe that my connection with Him has transformed me into a better individual, providing strength during moments of vulnerability. His positive influence has shaped my life, leading me to serve Him wholeheartedly, without conditions. When attending church services, my purpose is to worship God, support His people, receive spiritual nourishment, and engage in fellowship with fellow believers. During a discussion with some members, I discovered various reasons why people attend church, such as following a parent's advice, seeking healing from past hurts, desiring deliverance, or even hoping to find a life partner. While each reason is valid, what truly matters is the act of showing up. Over time, under the guidance of the right spiritual leader, the initial motives for attending church may evolve into a deeper connection with God, fostering personal growth in one's faith journey.

It's evident why we attend church, but let's now shift our focus to how we approach it. While we are encouraged to come as we are, it's essential to show respect in the house of the Lord.

The acceptable attire for church has evolved notably over time. While the principles of faith remain constant, societal norms have shifted towards less conservative dress codes. Presently, there is a trend where revealing less skin is considered more fashionable, attractive, or elegant.

Among Christians, opinions vary on the necessity of formal attire, with some advocating for dressing up and others endorsing a more casual approach.

However, it is generally advised to avoid overly revealing clothing such as low-cut tops or dresses, and outfits that are excessively short. Additionally, there are reservations about wearing overly tightfitting clothes that accentuate one's figure. There was a time when women couldn’t wear makeup or earrings, and she had to have on stockings to cover her legs under dresses that were below her calf.

Today, churches have shifted towards members dressing up to give the impression of being blessed.

Some churches attract people with flashy and gaudy attire. The focus should be on God and His teachings rather than on extravagant attire.

We are still expected to show respect for the Lord's house, but some women feel a sense of freedom that lead them to disregard this expectation.

Attending church serves the purpose of uplifting God, spreading His word, preaching, and teaching to enhance your worship experience. Don’t use this time to tempt or entice others so please don’t come to get sexy for the spirit. Dressing provacative can be a distraction for many. So keep it modest! Dress proper for the occasion. If someone lacks suitable attire for church, does that imply they should refrain from attending? While the scriptures do not provide specific attire guidelines, they do emphasize modesty. In my view, individuals should come as they are, and if someone's clothing is deemed inappropriate, address it with love, respect, and kindness. Avoid judgment or shaming; instead, guide them with love towards the right path. If the individual is facing difficulties or is homeless, embrace them and unite the community to offer assistance and support.

This article aims to inspire women to dress stylishly yet respectfully. Remember, if you have doubts about what you're wearing, it might be best not to wear it.

From my earliest memories, my grandmother used to take my brother and me to her garden where we'd assist her in planting seeds. Our small hands would compete over how many to pick. Grandmother always spoke softly, reassuring us that there was plenty to go around. Despite initially calling each other greedy and settling for one or two seeds, we'd soon be back to grabbing handfuls.

Grandmother's patience never wavered. She would then share stories about her life or offer insights into what life could hold for us as we grew older.

Each conversation with my grandmother was a valuable lesson, although we didn't realize it at the time. Thanks to her guidance, I am financially savvy. She instilled in us the importance of managing our money wisely.

During our teenage years when we landed our first summer jobs, our grandmother asked us to set aside $4 from each paycheck. This was her way of teaching us about responsibility, saving, and looking after our home.

She planted more seeds than we realized. A grandmother’s love is worth living for.

After graduating from college, my grandmother gave me some valuable advice.

She emphasized the importance of saving consistently and prioritizing taking care of home above all else. According to her, by looking after your home and everything in it, your resources will be secure, ensuring you always have a place to return to. Her wise words included the notion that saving even $10 is better than having nothing saved at all.

Grandma was serious about food too. She used to say that God would keep your cupboards full, but you needed to provide something for Him to work with. She would say keep your refrigerator stocked. I had a couple of college friends who were barely getting by, and then there were two who relied on their parents' credit cards. These friends were always out every weekend, living as if responsibilities didn't exist. They lived for the weekends, shopping on Fridays just to go clubbing.

Planted seeds will allow you to celebrate indoors or outdoors, alone or with others.

I don’t live just for the weekend. The significance of securing a stable financial future was instilled in me by my parents and grandmother. While I do go out with my friends occasionally, I am equally happy staying in and enjoying my own cozy version of Netflix and relax. It worries me when my friends mention surviving on hotdogs, noodles, or peanut butter and jelly for extended periods. One close friend even asks for my leftovers from the fridge at times to cut down on her grocery expenses.

The Word of God urges us to provide food for our neighbors when they are hungry, yet I aspire to offer them more than just physical nourishment. I am driven to share financial knowledge with them to empower their lives.

For example, when I shop for groceries, I purchase in bulk to ensure I have at least a two-week supply at home. This way, any midweek grocery runs are only for items that need replenishing, rather than starting fresh each week at the store. Even if you live alone, a membership at BJ’s or Costco can be beneficial. Cut coupons if you have to but the main objective is to budget, budget, budget.

No one wants to hear it, some cringe at doing it but that’s what I do!

Learned from the Finest! Raised in a traditional manner by my parents, much like my grandmother, who instilled in us the importance of visiting the bank. My father emphasized the significance of knowing your bank well, disapproving of check cashing establishments and prepaid bank cards. This valuable lesson was passed down from my grandmother to my father, benefiting us all.

I understand that some people learn financial lessons through difficult experiences, but I am here to offer assistance. I advise my friends to set up a savings account and automate a portion of their income to be deposited into it.

If feasible, consider not having a bank card for that account. It's important not to shy away from discussing money matters. Following my grandmother's advice, prioritize paying yourself first rather than saving what's leftover. Take stock of your current financial situation to educate yourself and achieve financial stability.

The last seed I’ll plant is build you a financial cushion, build good credit and secure you an emergency credit card. If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, God will help you. Put your faith in God and stick to a plan, and it will get done!

As fall and winter arrive, bringing cold and long days, people tend to spend more time indoors. These seasons are often considered ideal for starting a romantic relationship, as individuals begin to crave closeness and companionship.

Cuffing season marks a period when single individuals start seeking relationships to pass the colder months.

No one wants to be alone, particularly during fall and winter. It's essential to be cautious in your actions and choice of company during this time. Many adults today casually refer to relationships as "cuffing season or Netflix and chill."
