1.Thoroughlyreadandunderstandthismanual andthecombineandgrainheadoperatorís manualsbeforeattemptingtooperatethis equipment.

2.Besureeveryoneisclearofthemachine beforestarting.

3.Onlytheoperatorshouldbeonthecombine whenoperating.Neverallowanyonetogeton oroffthecombinewhileitisinmotion.

4.Keepallshieldsinplace.Neverworkaround thegrainheadorcombineinlooseclothing thatcouldcatchonmovingobjects.

5.Observethefollowingprecautionswhenever lubricating,makingadjustments;orservicingthegrainhead.

A.Disengageallclutchingswitches.

B.Lowerthegrainheadtothegroundor raisetheheadcompletelyandlowerthe cylindersafetystop,1.Thisstopwill preventthegrainheadfromlowering.

C.Engagetheparkingbrake.

D.Shutoffthecombineengine.

6.Neverdisconnectormakeanyadjustments tothehydraulicsystemunlessthegrainhead isloweredtothegroundorthelock,1,isin thedownposition.

7.Lowerthereeltoitísdownpositionor properlyengageliftcylinderstop,1.

DANGER

Failureofthehydraulicliftsystemmaycausethe headorreeltofallrapidly.Liftcylinderstops mustbeusedinthelockpositionwhenworking aroundtheheadorreelinaraisedposition. Failuretouseliftcylinderstopsmayresultin seriousinjuryordeath.

8.Practicesafety365daysayear.Keepallyour equipmentinsafeoperatingcondition.Keep allguardsandsafetydevicesinplace. Alwaysstopthemachinebeforeattempting tounplugorserviceit.

Acarefultechnicianisthebestinsuranceagainst anaccident.Extremecareshouldbetakento keephandsandclothingawayfrommoving parts.

9.Afterservicingthegrainhead,makesureall tools,parts,andserviceequipmentare removedfromthehead.

10.Donotallowchildrenorbystandersaround themachinewhileitisbeingadjusted, serviced,oroperated.

11.Alwaysuseasafetystandinconjunctionwith hydraulicjacksorhoists.Donotrelyonthe jackorhoisttoholdtheloadcompletely becausetheycouldfail.

12.Alwaysusesafetyglasseswhenusinga hammer,chisel,orothertoolsthatmaycause chipstoflyoffthework.

13.Keepworkareaorganizedandclean.Wipeup alloilspillstominimizethepossibilityofa fall.Keeptoolsandpartsoffthefloorto furtherreducethepossibilityorinjury.

14.Besuretoreinstallsafetydevices,guards andshieldsafteradjustingorservicingthe grainhead.

15.Whenusingagastorch,alwayswearwelding glovesandgoggles.Keepafullychargedfire extinguisherwithineasyreach.Useproper shieldingaroundhydrauliclines.

16.Hydraulicfluidescapingunderpressurecan penetrateskin.Hydraulicfluidmayinfecta cut.Ifinjuredbyhydraulicfluid,seeadoctor atonce.

17.Tolocateahydraulicleakunderpressure, useasmallpieceofcardboard.Neveruse yourhandstolocatealeak.

18.Donotattempttorepairortightenhydraulic hosesunderpressure.Cycleallhydraulic circuitstorelieveallpressurebefore disconnectingthelinesorbeforeperforming otherworkonthehydraulicsystem.Make sureallconnectionsaretightandhosesand linesareingoodconditionbeforeapplying pressuretothesystem.

Thefollowingarerecommendationswhichmaybeof assistance:

• Becomeacquaintedwithandensurethatyou understandtherelativelegislationapplicableto yourcountry.

• Wherenolegislationexists,obtaininformation fromsuppliersofoils,filters,batteries,fuels, antifreeze,cleaningagents,etc.,withregardto theireffectonmanandnatureandhowtosafely store,useanddisposeofthesesubstances. Agriculturalconsultantswill,inmanycases,be abletohelpyouaswell.

HELPFULHINTS

1.Avoidfillingtanksusingcansorinappropriate pressurizedfueldeliverysystemswhichmay causeconsiderablespillage.

2.Ingeneral,avoidskincontactwithallfuels,oils, acids,solvents,etc.Mostofthemcontain substanceswhichmaybeharmfultoyourhealth.

3.Modernoilscontainadditives.Donotburn contaminatedfuelsandorwasteoilsinordinary heatingsystems.

4.Avoidspillagewhendrainingoffusedengine coolantmixtures,engine,gearboxandhydraulic oils,brakefluids,etc.Donotmixdrainedbrake fluidsorfuelswithlubricants.Storethemsafely untiltheycanbedisposedofinaproperwayto complywithlocallegislationandavailable resources.

5.Moderncoolantmixtures,i.e.antifreezeand otheradditives,shouldbereplacedeverytwo years.Theyshouldnotbeallowedtogetintothe soilbutshouldbecollectedanddisposedof safely.

6.Donotopentheair-conditioningsystemyourself. Itcontainsgaseswhichshouldnotbereleased intotheatmosphere.Yourdealerorair conditioningspecialisthasaspecialextractorfor thispurposeandwillhavetorechargethesystem properly.

7.Repairanyleaksordefectsintheenginecooling orhydraulicsystemimmediately.

8.Donotincreasethepressureinapressurized circuitasthismayleadtoacomponentfailure.

9.Protecthosesduringweldingaspenetrating weldsplattermayburnaholeorweakenthem, allowingthelossofoils,coolant,etc.
