1.Thoroughlyreadandunderstandthismanual andthecombineandgrainheadoperatorís manualsbeforeattemptingtooperatethis equipment.

2.Besureeveryoneisclearofthemachine beforestarting.

3.Onlytheoperatorshouldbeonthecombine whenoperating.Neverallowanyonetogeton oroffthecombinewhileitisinmotion.

A.Disengageallclutchingswitches.

B.Lowerthegrainheadtothegroundor raisetheheadcompletelyandlowerthe cylindersafetystop,1.Thisstopwill preventthegrainheadfromlowering.

C.Engagetheparkingbrake.

D.Shutoffthecombineengine.

6.Neverdisconnectormakeanyadjustments tothehydraulicsystemunlessthegrainhead isloweredtothegroundorthelock,1,isin thedownposition.

11.Alwaysuseasafetystandinconjunctionwith hydraulicjacksorhoists.Donotrelyonthe jackorhoisttoholdtheloadcompletely becausetheycouldfail.

12.Alwaysusesafetyglasseswhenusinga hammer,chisel,orothertoolsthatmaycause chipstoflyoffthework.

13.Keepworkareaorganizedandclean.Wipeup alloilspillstominimizethepossibilityofa fall.Keeptoolsandpartsoffthefloorto furtherreducethepossibilityorinjury.

14.Besuretoreinstallsafetydevices,guards andshieldsafteradjustingorservicingthe grainhead.

15.Whenusingagastorch,alwayswearwelding glovesandgoggles.Keepafullychargedfire extinguisherwithineasyreach.Useproper shieldingaroundhydrauliclines.

16.Hydraulicfluidescapingunderpressurecan penetrateskin.Hydraulicfluidmayinfecta cut.Ifinjuredbyhydraulicfluid,seeadoctor atonce.

17.Tolocateahydraulicleakunderpressure, useasmallpieceofcardboard.Neveruse yourhandstolocatealeak.

18.Donotattempttorepairortightenhydraulic hosesunderpressure.Cycleallhydraulic circuitstorelieveallpressurebefore disconnectingthelinesorbeforeperforming otherworkonthehydraulicsystem.Make sureallconnectionsaretightandhosesand linesareingoodconditionbeforeapplying pressuretothesystem.

Soil,air,andwaterarevitalfactorsofagricultureand lifeingeneral.Whenlegislationdoesnotyetrulethe treatmentofsomeofthesubstanceswhichare requiredbyadvancedtechnology,commonsense shouldgoverntheuseanddisposalofproductsofa chemicalandpetrochemicalnature.

Thefollowingarerecommendationswhichmaybeof assistance:

• Becomeacquaintedwithandensurethatyou understandtherelativelegislationapplicableto yourcountry.

• Wherenolegislationexists,obtaininformation fromsuppliersofoils,filters,batteries,fuels, antifreeze,cleaningagents,etc.,withregardto theireffectonmanandnatureandhowtosafely store,useanddisposeofthesesubstances. Agriculturalconsultantswill,inmanycases,be abletohelpyouaswell.

HELPFULHINTS

1.Avoidfillingtanksusingcansorinappropriate pressurizedfueldeliverysystemswhichmay causeconsiderablespillage.

2.Ingeneral,avoidskincontactwithallfuels,oils, acids,solvents,etc.Mostofthemcontain substanceswhichmaybeharmfultoyourhealth.

3.Modernoilscontainadditives.Donotburn contaminatedfuelsandorwasteoilsinordinary heatingsystems.

4.Avoidspillagewhendrainingoffusedengine coolantmixtures,engine,gearboxandhydraulic oils,brakefluids,etc.Donotmixdrainedbrake fluidsorfuelswithlubricants.Storethemsafely untiltheycanbedisposedofinaproperwayto complywithlocallegislationandavailable resources.

5.Moderncoolantmixtures,i.e.antifreezeand otheradditives,shouldbereplacedeverytwo years.Theyshouldnotbeallowedtogetintothe soilbutshouldbecollectedanddisposedof safely.

6.Donotopentheair-conditioningsystemyourself. Itcontainsgaseswhichshouldnotbereleased intotheatmosphere.Yourdealerorair conditioningspecialisthasaspecialextractorfor thispurposeandwillhavetorechargethesystem properly.

7.Repairanyleaksordefectsintheenginecooling orhydraulicsystemimmediately.

8.Donotincreasethepressureinapressurized circuitasthismayleadtoacomponentfailure.

9.Protecthosesduringweldingaspenetrating weldsplattermayburnaholeorweakenthem, allowingthelossofoils,coolant,etc.
