Agooddiagnosisiscarriedoutwiththecompetence acquiredfromyearsofexperienceandtakingpartin repaircourses.
Whenausercomplainsaboutabadefficiencyorope-ratinganomalies,hisindicationsmustbekeptinto dueaccount,takingfromthemthoseusefulinforma-tionthatwillbeusedtoguideourintervention.
Afterhavingdetectedtheanomaly,itisadvisableto carryoutfailuresearchoperationsbydecodingself-diagnosisdataofthecentralelectronicunitoftheEDC (EngineDieselControl)system.
Withtheuseofcomputerisedtools,itisalsopossible toestablishabi--directionalcommunicationwiththe centralunitwithwhichitispossiblenotonlytodecode theerrorcodes,butalsotoaddresstheimageinits memorytoobtainthosefurthernecessaryinforma-tiontogobacktotheanomalyorigin.
Everytimeaninconvenienceoccursanditsexistence isdetected,itisnecessarytoproceedwiththeelec-tronicunitquerythroughoneofthepointed--outways andthenproceedwiththediagnosticsurveythrough testsandmeasuresthroughwhichanoutlineofope-ratingconditionsisobtainedandtherealanomaly reasonsareidentified.
