THE FJORD AND THE HARBOUR Nakskov has a centuries-long tradition of shipbuilding, and the port is just a short distance from the main street. Here you can visit the industrial harbour and the marina, and as a rule Denmark’s oldest and best-preserved schooner, Johanne, will be found at the charming harbour front. This is the start of the breathtakingly beautiful Nakskov Fjord, Denmark’s most islanded fjord. The fjord has fantastic scenery and abundant wildlife that you can enjoy by taking a trip on the Post Boat. You can also experience the fjord at close quarters by driving to Albuen. Here, you can park and walk the 5 kilometres to the end of the curved spit.
