The army of the Republic of Pisa, commanded by Uguccione della Faggiuola wins a decisive victory against the joint forces of the Kingdom of Naples and the Republic of Florence. The German soldiers dead in the battle were buried in Pisa in the church of San Giorgio ai Tedeschi. Today Pisa and its Province celebrate the 700 years of the Battle with a historical cortège and the memory of the fallen in the Camposanto and in the church of San Giorgio ai Tedeschi.
