The ICC Spring Pickleball Battle 2023

The ICC’s first ever Spring Pickleball Battle was at the end of March and was quite a lot of fun! The weekend event started with a party and pickleball exhibition with our Director of Pickleball Andrew Curtis and Tennis Professional Tiffany Davis playing with some of George Mason’s best!

Our champions in the three categories, Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, made pickleball history for the club.

DMV Pickleball League Starts

With the significant growth of pickleball in the area, we have joined a new competitive interclub program! This pickleball league will play on Saturdays at 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. The season will start May 6th and teams will play other DMV area clubs for 5 weeks. June 10th will be a rain date/makeup week. The playoffs will be on June 17th, at 1:00 p.m. at Kenwood Country Club.

If you are interested in finding out more about the DMV pickleball league or would like to come watch a home match, please contact the Pickleball Director, Andrew Curtis at (571) 241-9155 or the tennis shop at (703) 449-3432 or tennis.shop@internationalcc.com

New Pickleball Machine

The club has purchased a pickleball machine. The pickleball machine rates are the same as our current tennis ball machine rates, $12 for a half-hour, and $24 for an hour. We also offer a Ball Machine Club annual fee of $250/per individual or $300/family. Membership allows you to have unlimited use of the ball machine and covers the court cost during ball machine use.

Outdoor Courts Are Open

The four outdoor Har-Tru tennis courts are open and in use! There is no charge for an outdoor court reservation, but guest fees still apply to the indoor courts. Remember, you can always get some extra practice on the backboard on the north side of court 7 or schedule the ball machine indoors.

If you are moving indoors from the outdoor courts, please be sure to clean your tennis shoes properly before entering the tennis bubble.
