Calv
Porzellan / Porcelain
Calv sieht aus wie Kalbsleder und besteht aus einem zähen stark ölhaltigen Spezialpapier, welches von Domus mit Polycarbonatplatten verpresst wird. Das Material ist dadurch selbsttragend aber nur bedingt wasserresistent. Es eignet sich nur für Schirme, die wir ausdrücklich anbieten.
Porzellan eignet sich in hervoragender Weise für Lampenschirme. Extrem hohe Temperaturbeständigkeit gepaart mit einem guten Reflexionsgrad und einer wohltuenden Transmission bieten perfekten Lichtkomfort. Domus verwendet Porzellan-Schirme, die auf der Innenseite glasiert werden; die Außenseite wird in einem aufwendigen Verfahren von Hand poliert. Somit bekommt das harte Material eine samtig glänzende Oberfläche.
Calv looks like calfskin and consists of a durable oily special paper, which is compressed with polycarbonate by Domus. The material is reinforced by that, but only partially water resistant. It is good only for those shades, for which it is offered.
Leaf Leaf ist ein handgeschöpftes Papier, verpresst mit einer Trägerfolie. Das Material charakterisiert Natur pur durch getrocknete Blätter in der Oberfläche. Leaf ist feucht abwischbar und harmoniert mit sämtlichen Hölzern.
Porcelain is an ideal material for lamp shades. Its extreme temperature stability, combined with a good degree of reflection and a pleasant light transmission, offer perfect light comfort. DOMUS uses porcelain shades glazed at the inside and laboriously hand-polished on its outside surfaces. The special treatment gives the hard material a velvety, shiny surface.
Creanit
Leaf is a handmade paper, compressed with a polycarbonate foil. The material characterizes pure nature by dried leaves in the surface. Leaf can be cleaned by a moist cloth and corresponds with any kind of timber.
Creanit ist ein mit einem reinem Acryl (Plexiglas) gebundenes Steinmehl. Es ist überaus schlagfest und leicht zu reinigen. Das Material wird von DOMUS in einem speziellen Verfahren dreidimensional verformt. Creanit kann nur bei den von uns explizit angebotenen Leuchten verwendet werden.
Tussah
Creanit is a stone dust bonded with pure acrylic glass (plexiglass). It is highly shock resistant and easy to clean. In a special process, the material is three-dimensionally formed. Creanit can only be used for the lamps explicitly offered by DOMUS.
Ein handgewebtes indisches Seidenmischgewebe, bestehend aus Rohseide und Baumwolle. Der Stoff wird nach dem Handwebvorgang gekocht und dadurch leicht gebleicht. Er hat keine chemischen Zusätze. Der Farbausfall kann von Rolle zu Rolle etwas differieren. A blended, hand-woven Indian fabric of raw silk and cotton. After handloom weaving, the fabric is boiled, which has a slight bleaching effect. No chemicals are added. The resulting colors of individual rolls may differ slightly.
