CLINICAL EXPERIENCES Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health, Canton, OH June 2011 – June 2012 APA Accredited Doctoral Level Internship Supervisors: Linda Menes, Ph.D., Jennifer Reese, Psy.D., and David Coleman, Ph.D.  Community Mental Health Center serving children and adolescent clients as well as their families. Diagnoses included mood, anxiety, trauma, psychotic, autism spectrum, and emerging personality disorders  Maintained a “high-risk” caseload of approximately seven adolescents with suicidal ideation, self-injurious behaviors, and abuse histories, with high conflict home environments. Treatments for these individuals included weekly risk assessments, organizing inpatient hospitalizations, on-call acute crisis stabilization, psychoeducation, and collaboration with case managers, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals  Additionally maintained a regular caseload of approximately 40 clients aged 4-21 years-old utilizing cognitive-behavioral, family systems, play therapy, and dialectical-behavioral techniques  Conducted 20 psychological evaluations with integrative reports. Rural division of a comprehensive Community Mental Health Center serving adult clients diagnosed with severe mental health disorders. Diagnoses for individual and group therapies included dissociative, psychotic, conversion, somatoform, mood, anxiety, and personality disorders Weekly therapeutic groups were conducted with court-mandated parent populations convicted of child abuse or neglect. This group processed the generational patterns of abuse utilizing trauma-focused cognitive behavioral techniques Co-led a coping skills group targeted at survivors of physical and sexual abuse.

Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral techniques were utilized Employed a manualized treatment protocol in co-leading a process group focused on the improvement of interpersonal functioning and setting appropriate boundaries Participated in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and conducted three psychological evaluations with integrative reports Supervision consisted of reviewing video-taped sessions, enhancing case conceptualizations, and emphasizing empirically supported treatments Site required advanced group therapy skills as well as structured organization of treatment plans that were consistent with the comprehensive services provided.

Advocacy & Support Center, Elizabethtown, KY July2009 – July 2010 Psychotherapy and Case Conceptualization Practicum Site Supervisor: Jennifer Rapke, Psy.D. University Supervisor: Tony Sheppard, Psy.D.  Nonprofit organization that serves as a Rape Crisis Center and Children’s Advocacy Center for eight counties in KY. The center is an outpatient facility that sees victims of sexual assault and their families  Responsibilities included individual and family therapy, completion of three comprehensive assessments, on-call for acute crisis stabilization and counseling for after hours and walk-ins, coordination of medical examination following acute disclosures of rape, coordination and observation of forensic interviews, as well as school intervention, consultation, and education  Caseload consisted of approximately 20 clients who ranged from 4 to 65 yearsold. Treatment included cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure techniques, family systems, play therapy, and trauma focused CBT  Supervision focused on advanced case conceptualization training which integrated the developmental, systemic, multicultural, and environmental influences to a client’s presenting problems, review of videotapes, and confidence in tough decision-making abilities  Emphasis was placed on collaboration between DCBS, Victim Advocates, social workers, case managers, school officials, and judicial system. Significant trauma histories were also consistently present Duties included assisting in intake interviews, classroom observations, helping with group therapy sessions, and behavioral management Basic therapeutic skills were used such as empathetic and reflective listening skills. Supervision focused on learning systemic operations, examining symptomatic presentations with given diagnoses, and understanding developmental considerations in conjunction with dual diagnoses.

PROVISION OF PSYCHOTHERAPY SUPERVISION Spalding University, Louisville KY August 2010 – May 2011 Peer Supervisor Supervisor: Brenda Nash, Ph.D.  Supervised a Master’s level practicum student on a weekly basis. Discussed countertransference and site issues, and have explored how to adapt therapy for children when supervisee has only worked with adult populations.  Established long-term objectives include helping supervisee develop conceptualization skills, refining psychological evaluations and choosing appropriate measurements for the referral questions, and increasing selfawareness and professional growth.  Received two hours of group supervision weekly with advanced psychotherapy practicum students as well as a licensed psychologist. Reviewed videotape, attended group didactics, and received feedback on presentations regarding our introductory skills as supervisors.
