A little bit about us…
• We are Certified MBE/WBE
• Family owned and operated businesses by Kevin (49%owner) and Christine (51% owner), married for over 49 years, along with sons Robert and Steven Hausrath.
• Hausrath’s was started as a small snow plow business to help with the purchase of Kevin & Christine’s first home in 1973. The company Incorporated in 1978, and had just 1 employee. Today, we employ over 100 people, with accounts all over Western New York and Northwest Pennsylvania.
• Our entire fleet consists of over 100 registered vehicles. Our trucking division currently consists of 3 Tri-axle dump trucks, 4 Semi-trucks, and an assortment of 11 different trailers to accommodate almost any hauling need.
Our headquarters has been located at 451 Meyer Rd in Amherst, New York since 1982, with 10,000sq ft. building that houses our offices as well as a fully equipped repair shop for the ability to make repairs to most anything from string trimmers to heavy-duty tri-axle dump trucks. We service all of our own equipment and do most body work to keep vehicles and machines in top running condition and looking good. Our family strongly believes in and takes great pride in a wide variety of charity work.
• We founded and have personally raised over $450,000 to open a teen center in the Town Boys and Girls Club named “Annie’s Place”. Annie’s Place was founded in memory of Christine’s Mother, “Annie”, who instilled in Christine the belief of “giving back”.
• We spearheaded the opening of an “Entry Level Trades Center”, BEAT (Building Education and Trades) to work with kids that like to work with their hands. We are losing good candidates for this type of industry every day because so much emphasis is placed on academics. Opening the doors to experiment and discover with “trades” will make a great impact on these kids and give them a direction that most do not get in their home life. These programs will give these kids exposure to interesting fields and give them confidence in exploring new career opportunities. Sometimes all it takes is a little nudge in the right direction!
• We were instrumental in the planning, design, and installation of a playground at the Franklin Street Boys and Girls Club
• Each year for the past 30+ years we have hosted a huge Christmas Party with a guest list that has grown to almost 500 in attendance. Toys and gifts are collected and are donated to disadvantaged children of all ages in the Buffalo/Tonawanda area.
• Our family donates and serves the complete Thanksgiving Dinner, including dessert, for the past several years for children at Assumption Church, Black Rock Boys and Girls Club, and the Town Boys and Girls Club.
• We also have fun donating the eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt at Riverside Park as well as the candy for the prizes.
• We have donated hundreds of baskets and prizes over the past 25+ years for requests of community activities.
• We have sponsored many scholarships for children in our local schools.
• Christine is the past President of the Board of Managers for the Town Boys and Girls Club.
• Christine is past President of the Kiwanis Club of the Boulevard (2 terms).
• On April 20, 2010, Christine was recognized by the Eggertsville - Grand Island Lodge No, 1138 Free and Accepted Masons and the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York with the “Distinguished DeWitt Clinton Masonic Award for Community Service”. This award recognizes NonMasonic members of the community for their outstanding service to the community which exemplifies the ancient Masonic teachings of concern for the well-being of Mankind and of belief in the worldwide brotherhood of Man.
• Christine has also been inducted into The Hall of Fame for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northtowns, and has received many other leadership awards.
We are a hardworking, respectful, sensitive, caring, and giving family that works very hard in everything that we do. We are very proud to share the fact that our family will always give 110% in everything we do. We believe in partnerships when working together; it’s a positive way for everyone involved.

For us at Hausrath’s Landscape, snow is serious business. Unlike lawn maintenance, where you can cut the grass when you get to it… If today’s not good, hit it tomorrow or even the next day… Snow and Ice present some very unique and IMMEDIATE challenges.
First and foremost are the life / safety concerns. None of us wants to hear of someone going out shopping for the holidays or taking their significant other out for dinner and having someone slip, fall, and get hurt. We understand what a huge liability the winter season poses to an operation like yours and we will do our best to maintain a safe environment for your tenants and their guests.
We also recognize the need to maximize parking, particularly during the holiday season. The equipment that we invest in allows us to place the snow where it makes sense, not just piling it up where the truck just can’t push it any farther. We will pile the snow in remote areas of your property enabling your tenants and guests to use all available parking close to your facility.
Unless you request otherwise, there will be no windrows on your property between parking spaces. This presents a dangerous situation due to the freeze thaw cycles that we have in Buffalo and we want to avoid this. Eliminating windrows also helps maximize parking.
Our salt trucks are dedicated units. Having specific equipment to handle salting allows you to being the task while plowing operations may still be being completed in other areas of the site. Our salters are equipped with liquid spray systems that allow us to treat the salt with a product that enhances the salt’s melting abilities while creating a longer lasting residual effect.
The equipment that we use on sidewalks is the finest available in our industry. Small skid-steer loaders, small articulated tractors, and utility vehicles using a variety of rotary brooms, snowblowers, and snowplows will make quick work of clearing off the sidewalks.
One of the key components of the service that we provide is our quality control. A member of Hausrath’s management team (usually one of the Hausrath family) will be on site for every event. No staff member can leave the site when the job is finished until management has checked over the site and clears the team to leave.
Also, Hausrath’s Landscape Maintenance, Inc. will only offer our service in a relatively small area so that we can monitor weather conditions and be able to respond quickly. All of our snow and ice services are kept to within 3 miles of either of our two locations (451 Meyer Road, Amherst, NY and 81 Grand Island Boulevard, Tonawanda, NY).
The following photos are two examples of properties after a snow event.
The photo marked “A” is the BJ’s Wholesale Club in the Amherst Plaza at Sheridan Drive and Niagara Falls Boulevard.
The photo marked “B” is the BJ’s Wholesale Club at another well known shopping center in the Buffalo area.
The photos were taken less than 1 hour and 20 minutes apart, with the snow and ice covered property having the benefit of a longer time to melt.
Hausrath’s Landscape Maintenance, Inc. is proud to provide the snow and ice control at property “A”.
Property “B” is serviced by a well known competitor.
Hausrath’s is one of the largest buyers of bulk rock salt in site or to an off-site location!
Hausrath’s owns more wheel loaders than any contractor, quarry, construction company or municipality in the Buffalo / Rochester area!
Hausrath’s owns more salt trucks than any snow and ice contractor in the area. And more than most municipalities!
