Snow

For us at Hausrath’s Landscape, snow is serious business. Unlike lawn maintenance, where you can cut the grass when you get to it… If today’s not good, hit it tomorrow or even the next day… Snow and Ice present some very unique and IMMEDIATE challenges.

First and foremost are the life / safety concerns. None of us wants to hear of someone going out shopping for the holidays or taking their significant other out for dinner and having someone slip, fall, and get hurt. We understand what a huge liability the winter season poses to an operation like yours and we will do our best to maintain a safe environment for your tenants and their guests.

We also recognize the need to maximize parking, particularly during the holiday season. The equipment that we invest in allows us to place the snow where it makes sense, not just piling it up where the truck just can’t push it any farther. We will pile the snow in remote areas of your property enabling your tenants and guests to use all available parking close to your facility.

Unless you request otherwise, there will be no windrows on your property between parking spaces. This presents a dangerous situation due to the freeze thaw cycles that we have in Buffalo and we want to avoid this. Eliminating windrows also helps maximize parking.

Our salt trucks are dedicated units. Having specific equipment to handle salting allows you to being the task while plowing operations may still be being completed in other areas of the site. Our salters are equipped with liquid spray systems that allow us to treat the salt with a product that enhances the salt’s melting abilities while creating a longer lasting residual effect.

The equipment that we use on sidewalks is the finest available in our industry. Small skid-steer loaders, small articulated tractors, and utility vehicles using a variety of rotary brooms, snowblowers, and snowplows will make quick work of clearing off the sidewalks.

One of the key components of the service that we provide is our quality control. A member of Hausrath’s management team (usually one of the Hausrath family) will be on site for every event. No staff member can leave the site when the job is finished until management has checked over the site and clears the team to leave.

Also, Hausrath’s Landscape Maintenance, Inc. will only offer our service in a relatively small area so that we can monitor weather conditions and be able to respond quickly. All of our snow and ice services are kept to within 3 miles of either of our two locations (451 Meyer Road, Amherst, NY and 81 Grand Island Boulevard, Tonawanda, NY).

The following photos are two examples of properties after a snow event.

The photo marked “A” is the BJ’s Wholesale Club in the Amherst Plaza at Sheridan Drive and Niagara Falls Boulevard.

The photo marked “B” is the BJ’s Wholesale Club at another well known shopping center in the Buffalo area.

The photos were taken less than 1 hour and 20 minutes apart, with the snow and ice covered property having the benefit of a longer time to melt.

Hausrath’s Landscape Maintenance, Inc. is proud to provide the snow and ice control at property “A”.

Property “B” is serviced by a well known competitor.
