Design : Township design Work : Individual | semester 10 Site area - 41.60 acres
Location : Thirumazhisai , Chennai.
The aim is to design an integrated township as a solution to the rapid population growth and suburbanisation in urban areas. The project seeks to improve the quality of urban life by raising the standard of living, fostering a strong sense of neighbourhood and community, and addressing the major challenges faced by urban residents due to the increasing population. It aims to meet the current demands of the urban environment while creating a safe, healthy community that encourages social interaction and a sense of ownership.
The site area is 22.5 acres. There are three levels of zoning: private, semi-private, and public spaces. The public space includes the auditorium, which is located in the front. The semi-public space includes the oat, admin block, mess, and institutional buildings. The private area consists of dorms for staff and students.
B uildings - Architecture block, Design block, Admin, Mess, Auditorium, Students hostel, Staff accommodation.
V ehicular circulation - Vehicle access is limited to particular extent across the site.
Landscape - Landscape and open spaces have been incorporated between each block on the campus.
Pedestrian network - The pedestrian network links the built and open spaces.
Overall Site - showing buildings, road network, pedestrian network, landscapes.

Incorporating landscapes and interactive spaces
The student’s classroom and studio workspace were merged into a modular space to facilitate group learning and in the same way that the workshop and recreational area provide a view of nature, The learner is given a pleasant sense of the surroundings by the landscape, and the mood of the area is present. The open-air theatre in the middle, which serves as a gathering and interaction space, divides the architecture and design block.
