THE SYSTEM - TRUE ROCKER The System is Arbor’s rocker platform. Rocker is created by replacing the lengthwise positive arc of a traditional camber snowboard with a reverse shape similar to the profile of a surfboard. The design eliminates the leverage required to release and re-engage a camber snowboard’s outside contact points, creating a more seamless ride. Rocker delivers easier turn initiation, cleaner tracking across the snow, better float in powder, and more fluid spins and slides. Early rocker designs did not provide all the performance needed for more technical riding. As a result, newer “hybrid” designs use camber sections as a way to improve ride characteristics, such as edge control. We believe this technique sacrifices some of the seamless flavor of riding “true rocker.” The System is the solution that Arbor developed to address the need for performance in true-rocker designs. The System delivers amazing edge hold, without forfeiting any of the benefits of riding true rocker. The design brings together a Parabolic shape with our Grip-Tech sidecut to create an outstanding platform for all types of riding.
Grip Tech is a sidecut design that creates four additional contact points under foot, providing you with a surprisingly responsive, more ergonomic way to grip the snow. Grip Tech instantly delivers an edge when control is needed. The added contacts also create pivot points that make turning easier and more efficient. In addition Grip Tech allows riders with larger feet to ride narrower boards.
PARABOLIC ROCKER Parabolic Rocker is a true rocker design based on the parabolic arc, a shape that gradually reduces the amount of rocker toward the tip and tail. This ensures that the outside contact points are close enough to the snow to engage when maximum edge performance is required: higher speeds, loaded turns, and bigger landings.
